Hi folks I have a stock 2001 cobra svt. I plan on keeping it N/A . It has the stock 3.27 gears and am considering changing the rear end gears. What would be a good gear ratio to go with and still be able to run hwy speeds from time to time? Thanks
4.10 or exen 4.30s. I have a 2v and use 4.30s. At 65 I am doing 2500. Speeding tickets are outrageous and gas is pricey. That being said I do about 16 city and maybe 24 hwy.
Queue up the fuel economy warriors in 3, 2, 1.... "The RPMs will be too high on the highway and your mpg will go to shit." Oh well. If I cared about fuel economy, I would have bought a Prius. 4.10 or go home, but I wouldn't really go any higher if you still want a usable 1st gear.
4.10's in my Mach and they are fun. Still very manageable on the highway I wouldn't step up to 4.30's though as my left leg already hates me.
Does the car have a purpose? Daily, Sunday cruiser, drag, road course, etc? Sent from my XT1254 using Tapatalk
4.30s are a challenging gear for a daily. I'm not racing it anymore so I may step down to 3.73s. Sent from my LG-D801 using Tapatalk
Thanks everyone for your replies. From all the info it sounds like 410s would suit me best as where I live the freeway is basicly the only way to get anywhere. I think 430s would be too much. Again Thank You all
I had 4.56 on my 98 cobra. She screamed down the highway lol. Since your sticking n/a I think the 4.10 would suite you well. 4.30's wouldn't be too big either.
