What would be a special, or fancy timing set? And what are some of the disadvantages of the higher end units?

It was kinda a PITA to get the thrust bearing countersunk for the screws, but I liked the fact that it had a roller bearing, instead of the gear riding against the thrust plate itself. This piece was recommended by my cam designer.

In my fancy motors I ran a Rollmaster billet double roller. My normal new wimpy motor just has a Cloyes.

That's the one I ran in my fancy motor. To my knowledge, it is manufactured by Rollmaster for Comp Cams. Nice piece.

youve got to have some hardcore springs to stretch a chain...

I've taken apart a couple mid 90's pontiacs v6's that had finally gotten too much slack in their chains. This happened over about 150k miles though. I was just wondering if these better chains will do that. Course most people usually blow up or change out their engine by then. When it comes to this performance type stuff.
