I don't necessarily mean in YOUR vehicles either. For instance, my first attempt @ motor swapping was R&R of a blown 4-banger in a Nissan Hardbody. No supervision and with the owner's so-called help.

Nowadays, i feel like i can yank a 5.0 in a persistent vegetative state. Fawk, even hands swapped an engine...

Blew a rod in my little mini-bike as kid. swapped in a 4HP motor that hauled some ass. Max speed was about 45mph.

Blew the heads clean off my 2.8L '86 camaro. Swapped in a 383 Stroker and the rest of the 350's drivetrain. Blew that motor up with too much boost.

Swapped my 3.8 out of my 98 mustang to build it into a 4.2 Stroker.

Swapped my 4.6 out of the Roush to build it into a 5.0 Stroker.

This was circa 2002 I think. I had put motors in and whatnot before, but no on my own personal car.

When i was 16 my first car was a metallic dark blue 1988 toyota supra 7M-GE non-turbo. I drove the sh*t out of that car and it had over 200k miles on it. I found a 1JZA80 for sale on craigslist for $1000 and all harnesses and computer. I took over one side of my parents garage and it took me about 4 months to do the swap. I never quite ran perfect but it sure was fun as hell when i finally got it to hit peak boost (23 pounds).

Didn't really swap, but changed out sweet 4 cylinders in my old s-10, the day the motor went in some kid pulled out in front of me and totaled it.

also helped with a few honda swaps ;p

and a 240 that my buddy put an sr20 into

started with an 86 vw scirocco when i was 16 helping a guy get it ready for the track. crappy car crappy motor 100 shot, i think it lasted an afternoon of track time.

1960 1300cc single port type 1 bug motor
from my old 60' to my 62'

my friends home built 1776cc type 1 bug motor we put in probly 7 different cars.
few datsun pickups
one ranger
1 fox body 5.0
1 sn95 3.8 to 306 from above fox 8psi powerdyne t5 and 4.10's
1 sn95 gt wrecked took said drive train from ^^

those 3 mustangs created one but its under the knife again awaiting a t56 and tune, i think he's getting a new blower too.

currently i have a friend that wants me to swap a 7m non turbo into his turbo 88 supra and he wants me to get the turbo parts on the na motor. this swap might be easy or it might be a pita, im soon to find out.

oh and a few hondas but they dont count. we are talking about cars not toys.

Dude way easier to find a real 7M-GTE with low mileage and build that up, make sure to get the ECU as well.

we have both cars at his hows right now, short block in the turbo still and the na one would drive if it had a clutch.
both cars are fully dressed trim/interior wise. the na car was only $300 so even if we dont use it we can put a clutch in it and beat the snot out of it.

is there a difference between the na 7m and the 7mgte besides intake and exhaust? ex... cams head c.r and such? im not much of a toyota person.

I know alot of people will call BS about it but at 6 years old I was already out there being taught how to build a HIPO 289 in a 65 coupe we had. Built multiple racing gokart/sprint kart motors by 10, and have done alot of 5.0 engine tear downs and rebuilds through middle and highschool. I'm now 20/1. Did a cleveland to windsor swap in the 70 at 19.. 351w in a race car at 17/8, etc. I know the gokart thing isn't much but considering I finished 11th in a national race of 30+ karts, I figure we did pretty damn good..

Helped my dad swap out a blown 2.3L 4 banger out of my brother's OLD 1980 mustang when I was 13. When I was 17/18(last year) pulled my own motor from my mustang and re-did it completely aside from the bottom end.

I guess it would be helping my uncle change out his 390 with a 429. The swap was on his 66 Galaxie.

the 250 6 banger in my GMC to a 350 then pulled the 350 many times to take it up a notch
then the k20a3 in my civic to a k20a2 w/ type r cams
then a few 4 banger foxes to 5.0 conversions
the newest swap is an LS1 into my '67 coupe.

rebuilt a civic motor when i was 16 then did a ford inline 6 300 when i was 17 then helped my dad with a side jobe on a corvette now this summer im swaping a 350 out of my old truck to an elderbroke 350 crate motor. i evently plan on building a 351 into a stroker motor not sure how far stroked yet but doing it for my stang some day.
