Wow! Now you can even install gears with no shims or crush washers, no indicator to measure backlash, and no gear paint to see the wear pattern!!

Awesome!

I'm going to defer to your expertise here. Since you "know" all these people that run so fast for no money, it must be true. :rollinglaugh:

Dude... Seriously... You seem to be the expert in EVERYTHING yet you seem to know shit about nothing. You don't HAVE to spend 10 thousand dollars to go fast.

I agree, you don't have to spend $10K to go fast. A guy in town here, Steve Gould, ran 10.30s in his fox Capri with a summit rebuild kit, HCI, small carb, Tremec, slicks, and weight reduction with a 125 shot of nitrous.

That said, there sure are a lot of caveats to your little statement. "Well, what if your trac-lok is fine. What if you find a nitrous kit used for 30% of it's original price. What if you get everything uber-cheap and can do everything yourself with a socket wrench and a screwdriver."

That being said, going around saying there are "lots of guys" running consistent 12s in an NPI 2v or even a 5.0 for $1300 is preposterous. I've been to the track enough times to know better.

Come to Alabama and you will see lots of PB&J's running fast for cheap. There are more ways of going fast than just saying if Paul doesn't think it won't then that is the Gospel. Just because YOU have not seen it doesn't make it true. You are NOT the know all be all racing guru that you believe yourself to be. You need to come down off of your high horse and participate in these forums not denigrate nearly EVERY single person on here.

I will go back to what I said earlier.

You seem to be the expert in EVERYTHING yet you seem to know shit about nothing.

I'm not denigrating anyone, I'm just saying your statement is not realistic. Making your average SN95 4.6 or 5.0 run 12s for $1300 is VERY far-fetched.

It's funny that rather than providing a well-articulated argument about why I'm wrong or my statements are inaccurate, that you resort to the typical name-calling. To me, that's a more stronger indicator of who knows what they're talking about and who doesn't.

I have to agree with this. It's not impossible but 95% of people will not be able to achieve this.

Dude... I presented my facts to you and you basically called me liar. So yes, I will denigrate you. You do nothing but throw your 2 cents into conversations and contribute nothing other than to call somebody out or try and make yourself look more knowledgeable.

You go ahead and keep thinking you know it all.

Right there you are calling me a liar. You may know about your little corner of the US. I know about my little corner of the US. I know for a fact, 3 guys off the top of my head. All 3 bought 4 cyl coupe cars for less than 500 bucks. Junkyard or craigslist 302's plus cheap parts and junkyard parts plus spray and these guys are running low 7's high 6's every Friday night.

Folks from this website and many others I will agree with. But around here, like said earlier, they are called PB&J's for a reason.

I am only referring to the SN95 chassis. I could see it happening in a fox more than an SN95.

Mine's been worth the effort so far.

It's all you kids running around saying "It's too hard to turn a wrench..wahhh...Modulars are SO diffucult...wahhh..".

Like reality saying he doesnt want to touch the engine but wants to run mid 13s haha

wtf are you talking about? i don't want to not touch the engine because "it's too hard" i don't want to dig into engine because it's my dd and i don't want to run into ANY problems at all. stfu.

WTF are you talking about?

Its gonna be near impossible to run mid 13s without atleast doing pi intake and cams...I never said " its too hard for you"

Just saying that you are an example....you dont want to touch the engine for whatever reason, a lot of people are like that, hell, I cant rip open my engine either cause I drive it everyday...that why all I have is a PI intake and bolt ons...but im slow. :p

I agree with paul in the matter that its hard to make a sn95 run those times with 1300..

I guess its possible if you are doing everything yourself and get amazing deals on things...

but like I said when you first brought the 1300 dollar gear, pi swap, etc. up

A normal person would probably spend 2500-3000 on all that shit, maybe more if they pay to get the pi swap installed

So the conversation started with MrNiceGuys comment about making a 2v run 12s for $1000. Then he re-stated to $1300.

Then I called BS.

Then you came back with guys buying 4 cyl notch fox cars and converting them to V8 5.0s and making them run 12s. WTF? Were you even following the conversation? :hammer:

This is funny.

nope not at all...I mean, I wont touch my engine cause its all ive got.

If I had a daily driver I would have had that thing torn apart and put back together with a full pi swap and a bad ass set of cams by now, not to mention my blower would most likely be on. :hammer:

He changed it to 13's. But you still called BS. Lol...

13's for $1300 is doable IMHO.

Haha. I thought he meant thirteen hundred, not thirteen seconds. LMAO. Ahhh, miscommunication is a wonderful thing.

I agree. 13s for $1300 is doable. Gears, exhaust, shifter, tires, practice, etc...

Paul.
