I have an 18x8.5in rim. Its on the front of my car and I found out its bent so I need a new one but they make them in two different offsets and I cannot find anything on the back of the rim to tell me what offset it is. The two options are +13 and +38. Which one do I have?

Measure your rims to find out. More than likely it's +13, but measure the offset on the rims to be sure.

ok I found ET: 34 on the back of my rim does it make sense that I have a 34 offset? Basically to find the offset I go from the middle of the rim to hub mounting point of the wheel?

If you are trying to replace (1) rim -
A. you took the wrong measurement
B. manufacturer changed offsets. It's highly unlikely the manufacturer changed specs.

According to your first post you only have (2) options +13mm or +38mm (about an inch difference).

It sounds like you have the right idea. Google "wheel offset" to find more pictures and info.

it turned out my choices were not 13 and 38 but 13 and 34 the guy who emailed me the offset options typed in 38 by accident

my backs are +38, does all this seem about right? I probably could have left my quad shocks on but I couldn't even fit my pinky inbetween the tire and the quad shock. I am running 285/35/18 in the back

Yeah that seems pretty tight. Recommended offset is +15mm to +25mm. I'm not sure what the recommended backspacing is. You can purchase wheel spacers to push the rims outward.
