Whats the difference between these and these

Had a thread a long time ago about this but I never bought the pods. Now I'm back at it again lol. I just like the look so I want some. But I do need to know the what the difference is between the two different types of pods. As you can see from the pics, they're different. One seems to have a longer mounting bracket. Which ones do I need? Hard to tell since my car didn't come with Mach 460. Oh my car is a 94 model if that helps.

Both my 95 came with the bottom ones.. That's an attachment point you can snap it off and it would look like the top one

So if you're adding them to a car that didn't have them previously, you have to get the ones in the bottom pick or else you won't have all the necessary hardware required to mount them. That sound about right?

Yep. Aside from the logo being different. The top ones are just missing the lower part that mounts to the door as seen in the bottom pic.

Not necessarily, there is a bolt under the cover behind the tweeter IIRC that connects the top of the pod to the door. The bottom part had the wires run through it but you can do away this this part if you get the top portion secure with the one screw.

Having just the one bolt in there will keep it secure in a sense, but it can still slightly move if you grab it and twist. My '96 currently has this problem.

Kinda hard to see it but my '96 didn't have the Mach 460 package but you can see that the doors just had a cover..

Yeah my car looks the same way. So bare looking lol. I'm used to my old car that had it, and it looked just... more whole, more complete. Just what I'm used to I guess. Plus other people liked them too. They'd always comment on them when they got in my car for the first time. They'd be like "Oh are those little speakers mounted there?"
