It sits in the A/C box under your dash. That gets really cold as the refrigerant passes through it, and the A/C fan blows across it - that's how you get frosty air comin' out of your vents.

paul is 100% correct and when people say "my air conditioning isnt blowing cold" thats correct a/c will NEVER blow cold. all it does is passes the warm air though the evaporator and thus being a heat exachanger the warm air is cooled and now blow though your hvac housing.

thats where your refrigerant boils, removes heat from the air around it

just think of it as a radiator for your a/c system. warm air passes though it becomes chilled because that part becomes cold from the re-fridgerent, and then it is distributed from though your hvac ducts as cold air. its just like a radiator (ie a heat exchanger)

You guys are completely wrong. It's part of the pass. seat ejection system. That's where the hydraulic fluid mixes with jet fuel to create a flammable mixture similar to napalm.

No but seriously

i get how the ac works from a low pressure liquid to low pressure gas then its time on the high side as a high pressure liquid and a high pressure gas. i know this but for how he put it and explained it, to the common person will confuse someone even more.
