What is your motivation in owning your Mustang? This is NOT about your GOAL(S) but about why you work towards it/them.

I.E. If you want to have a car that runs a 10.xx, why do you want to get there? And what keeps you going towards that?

Just hoping to hear some interesting answers!

For me, it just keeps me happy. Gotta have something that brings you joy in life and this is it for me.

As for my goals, I want to be one of the first extreme high compression e85 modulars to make power N/A. There's no one I know of as of right now that has done anything near my setup, so I'm hoping, MAYBE, just MAYBE, I'll get recognized in a magazine for it.

LOL, oh I remember the days of high school.... Our ASB hated me so I wasn't even put in the running for best car. some bonestock BMW that a rich kid had won which was pathetic IMO.

I mean what's not to love about a car that looked this good and clean?

I wasnt either. Me and my friend entered. He has an all black e46 m3 (see sig) & neither of us got in the yearbook car page. Everyone at my school knows what we drive though. Some of the cars that did make it include 2 toyota tacomas, acura rsx, madza miata (wtf???), and a 1969 mustang, which is actually in really good condition (still his dad's car though). Some kid even brought down his dads terminator for one day and tried to enter it...

Its my free time to be by myself. There is nothing like cranking the stereo, cruising with the top down, and having the exhaust in the background.

what drop top said. and the name recognition is pretty cool too. even chicks who don't know a thing about cars get excited when they hear you drive a 'stang! *sometimes*

madstang, what is your set up and power goals? from what I've seen you post, I know a guy who has a similar build going. and mine is in the same vein, although my combo will most likely produce only modest power. not trying to be a buzzkill, just curious to hear your exact plans/goals, feel free to pm if this is a thread hi-jack.

I agree with some of the others. It's all about making myself happy. Walking outside and seeing such a beautiful creation, getting it in and getting waves and head turns plus compliments at meets/shows. I love the Mustang community, couldn't ask for a better vehicle.

I have to agree it is about happiness, no matter how bad my day is if i can drop the top an just hit the road the feel an sound erase the bad from my day.

My goals is to be able to tare down my engine an rebuild/ mod it with my own 2 hands. i try to do all my custom work myself and ask for help or advise if i dont know, but it is the satisfaction of doing it myself.

My motivation for my goals with my 'stang are simply put. Everyone says its pointless, can't be done, or not possible. I want a SN95 / New Edge that looks, drives, feels, and sounds like something MANY price tiers up. European cars are my target standard. If BMW, Mercedes, Audi, Jaguar, and Aston Martin can all create great cars that pretty much set the standards to beat, why can't the Mustang compete? BMW and Aston Martin are my two main influences. They both use V8's of comparable displacements, have solid drivetrains, and make coupes. Having drove many a BMW, and been in a few Aston's, I know that the there are VAST gaps, but they can be overcome. Why can't an American legend like the Mustang have the performance, styling, and interior qualities that 3-series, C-class, and A/S-4's have?

I wanted something that will hit 13's as a minimum. I just cant drive a typical car. I have had trucks, and fwd econos and just cant make myself like them. Its just about knowing I have plenty of power to take down most street cars. And it is nice to be know as the "mustang guy" and when people ask whats done to the car, I get a kick out of it.

Wanted a 5.0 since I was like 5 years old when my uncle got a brand new 1989 gt.

Why enjoy it ? Everyone I flash her up it brings a huge grin from ear to ear.

The "ONLY" reason i wanted a mustang was cause i wanted a convertable with a back seat and have ALWAYS liked the sn95.. A cousin had a 98 gt back in the day that was convertable on 18'' saleens lowered. The car was way sick for its day. After doing hondas for years (from show cars to go fast cars) I ended up wanting a convertable and ended up with my clean gt! The car has really grown on as have mustangs.. I love the rwd and its a fun DD

My motivation is fueled by an addictive personality. Working on Mustangs gets me high, just as high as (any drug of choice) can get me. I gave up getting extremely high, living as an addict, and found this Mustang. I needed to replace a broken headlight one day and got on-line, found AM website, and BOOM- It was over, I was hooked on something purposeful and I just love the satisfaction of making improvements and creating a car different than most any other. Working on the Mustang or just cleaning the Mustang everyday keeps my mind healthy and amuses me greatly. I've aleays been around motors from the time I was born. I work with them everyday as a mechanical engineer but the mustangs just do it for me. Might be genetic too, my father restored old Buicks and owned a gas station/garage. he loved it too. It's in my blood.

Mine is proving all the ricer, fwd, 4cyl kids that they are doing it wrong that that being American they should be investing in RWD V8 American muscle.
