What's your odometer at?

150++ because I bought it with a broken odometer at 148 with no knowledge of when it broke. Fully redone suspension, but I think the engine and transmission are completely original.

86k on my 98.... bought with 24k on it in April of 01'. Most of the miles were put on it from 01-06.. From 06 till now has been less that 6k.

Mines at 99,100 miles and made the most power in its life over the last 15,000 Ive had it and close to 500rwhp the last 1500! Need to replace shocks and struts but thats not too big of a deal.

Like mentioned I think garage kept and age is a big factor as well. You have a 20 year old car with 30,000 miles, it still will need most things made from rubber.

I couldn't agree more. A lot of people take a sitting car as a misconception. Car's were made to be driven, not sit. And when they sit it seems more shit goes wrong on them than when you use the car like it was designed to be used... Driven. My car would get daily'd year round, or at least share daily duty's with my ZJ but as of right now there's only half a motor in it lol

Last I checked tho... I think it was 140k and some change on my 00. Bought with 135k in April '12. Driven full time till September, then partially driven in October. And then blown spark plug and has sat in the garage since late October.

I think my car is probably the most unique of the bunch and i'll list why lol

1997 Mustang GT 124k on the odometer, bare chassis, doors, trunk... and pretty much nothing else LOL

Full wiring harness, fuel system, brake lines, transmission, suspension and brakes from a 1998 GT with 118k miles
Motor from a 2003 GT with 50k miles
Differential from said 2003 GT with 50k miles

The thing is a damn mut! but i love it <3

I couldn't agree more. A lot of people take a sitting car as a misconception. Car's were made to be driven, not sit. And when they sit it seems more shit goes wrong on them than when you use the car like it was designed to be used... Driven.

I don't believe that. My V6 was a DD and there was shit breaking on that car constantly. The cobra is only driven during the warm months and on nice days. I've had nothing major go wrong with it yet. It only makes sense that the more you use a vehicle, the more often/likely it is that things are going to break.


And I can't believe how many people have reported on here that their odometers have stopped working. I didn't know what problem was so wide-spread.

Its always been a huge problem with these cars, and its one of those fixes that unless you are crazy about tracking MPGs or knowing the mileage on your car it isnt really worth doing as you have to take the gauge cluster apart and for some that is a very big task that could lead to your gauges not being set back into the same place and everything reading wrong. Honestly I had wanted to do it but it just isnt worth the time since I dont plan on selling my car. Cheap plastic gears!

It took me about 5 tries to get my odometer gear fix to work... not sure why it worked on the 5th time, it just did lol. Pretty easy in general though.
