93-95 cobra which your not likely to find, explorers from 94-98 are probably your best bet. Go to your local machine shop and ask and see what they have. My dad just picked up some gt40's for his 85 from a machine shop here in town for 300 but they had fresh springs and valves. So check out ebay and such for them. remember look for the 3 lines on the front of the head not 4

Man I just picked up a set of gt40 heads for 120bucks. I dissasembled them myself ported them and installed a set of dual springs good for up to a 550 lift. All in my kitchen table and a lot of degreaser, Also got a explorer intake and throttle body for 100 bucks, i just finished porting the intake upper and lower and painted them, sorry to hijack your thread but point is go to your local junkyard and look for 96-97 explorers with gt40 heads not the P's because then you'll need different headers and stufff.

Ebay has them a lot.

I am going to eventually be selling my Extrude Hone Ported GT40's.

Just gotta look around, you can find them...

the GT-40Ps actually flow better (wish i could find that damn flow chart) and like stated before, you should be able to find a pair in a salvage yard dirt cheap. i ran them on my '91 coupe and they worked well with Mac longtube headers
(not BBKs!!!). it's a good idea to use spark plug insolaters'

like stated before, explorers 96 and half of 97 have the gt40 heads (3 bars on the side) and all other 5.0 explorers have
the gt40p heads (4 bars)

dont waste the time and money. just upgrade to AFR 165 or 185 heads depending on your setup.

AFR owns GT40. plus youll need custom or at least different headers then you have on your car if you have any at all right now.

just save some more and get AFR 165's.

/thread.. LOL.
