Where to find these bolts?

Since taking my intake and stuff off for the HCI, the 2 long bolts at the front of the intake snapped and so did the 2 long ones on the timing cover. My question is, where can I get these bolts without having to get them shipped via LRS? Would Napa or the Ford dealership have them?

What bolts are you talking about? If you have the thread pitch and length, just go to the hardware store and get some.

the bolts snapped, and I don't know the sizes, but the are they 2 long ones at the front of the lower intake that are prone to breaking off in the cylinder head(I believe someone had this issue when they did a GT40 intake swap) and the 2 timing cover bolts that are right go in the block by the coolant passages in the block.

If you take pictures of exactly the locations of where each of the bolts are, I may be able to tell you the bolt length and pitch. I have some of them mapped out on a spreadsheet.

This is the hole in the block where the timing cover bolt is, I have the broken bolt out now, but that I need 2 of those(other one is out, unbroken, but I it is completely mangled).

And for the intake it is the bolts for hole numbers 6 and 5.

The two intake bolts are 5/16"-18 x 2"

The broken bolt in your block (upper-right most in the picture) is 5-16"-18 x 3.25"

Thanks a bunch Paul! It's good to have such great members here, now to get those suckers after school tomorrow and get the intake bolted down. Also, is this nick in the timing cover a problem or could some RTV help it out?

If it worries you, could you could JB weld it and then sand it down flat. However, I would think that RTV would be sufficient. Just make sure your gaste seats appropriately and you should be fine.

I know way too much about bolts BTW.

Do I need to get the fancy ones with the built in washer thing like the OEM ones or will the bolts you told me + the approriate washer work?

You're referring to "flange bolts" which as a general rule I'd prefer, but that's because I'm uber-anal about fasteners. The reality is, a grade 5 bolt with a washer will do what it needs to do.

I think you are refering to my simple intake swap, that turned into a head repair, that turned into a heads/cam swap only to blow up on the dyno and end up slapping a rebuilt longblock in it and it was all because of the #6 bolt.

Yours doesn't look as bad as mine and you should be able to get it out. Mine was so rusted I could not tell where the bolt stopped or the head began.

I was told that this is one of the reasons you want to use DI watere in with the coolant, not sure if that really helps though. Be sure to use RTV on the bolt when putting it back on.

I don't think any of the hardware stores around here carry "flange bolts" but i was looking for them too, I should try asking for them by name now that i know what they're called.

You need a better hardware store. The one a mile from my house has flange bolts... but the one near my best friend's house (more of a rural market with farmers and whatnot) has EVERYTHING. I love that place.

No. I just downloaded the catalog and ordered away. It's way cheaper than buying ARP through Summit. I've replaced nearly every single fastener on my notch motor with a 12 pt ARP bolt.
