lots of snow expected soon. which tire do you think would be better? i have switched back and forth between the pair during the summer and they both suck equally in the rain. the dunlop is way stiffer, but the bfg is wider so im not quite sure

choices are:225-55-16 dunlop sport signature

or 235-60-15 BGF Radial T/A

both sets have about 8-9/32" left

Honestly I think they will both suck. May be time to spend the $$ on some real snow tires if you will be daily driving.

You "can" drive in snow on slicks too, doesn't mean it's a good idea. Bottom line, if you really want to run one of these use whatever one has more tread.

I've had pretty good luck with Dunlop winter sports, but of those two i'd probably go with the BFGs, they look like they'd be better to me.

I have Blizzaks. They work great. A recently article on MSN explained due to the compound of an all season, they actually are not very good at all in the snow because the rubber doesn't get soft enough.

Just spend the money and get some snow tires.

225 dunlops, the skinnier the better. Sandbags and skinny tires=win

^This... Blizzaks are designed to be driven in temperatures below 20 degrees... Most all season tires are not.. And while the 8/32nds you currently have might be sufficient to get by, most snow tires come new with around 12/32s, which is about what truck tires come new with.. There are always used snow tires on craigslist that you can snatch up.
