Hey guys i just did my clutch and i put in a Centerforce Stage II with a Ford clutch disc and the engagement is just a tad harsh. Hardly even noticeable.....Anyways so i put in a Timkin TO bearing and it's still singing like it was before with the worn out one. I took the old one apart just now and see that part of it's plastic??? WTF why in the hell would they use plastic for these things?? I figured a Timkin would be fine considering there reputation. But what do you guys think what do you have and what works and doesn't work for you???? I wonder if i should get a adjustable clutch quadrant to fix it or what do you guys think??? I Don't wanna wear this out by having to rest my foot on my clutch pedal.... That's a Big NO....NO... so what do you guys think???

If you want the all-metal TO bearing, you can buy it from Ford.

I have cars with stock and aftermarket quadrants, and don't think one performs better than the other.

I'm just wondering why it still sings??? Would it be improper installation ?? I did everything just as i have done every other clutch i have done and this one sings for who knows what reason. Maybe i'll just save up and redo it all when i build my motor and just deal with it for now... i am not in the mood to do another clutch job on my back :( Thanks Paul always there to lend a helping thought.

The t/o bearing in my king cobra clutch kit is singing as well. Who makes a t/o bearing that will last?

the best t/o bearing you can buy is a ford. Spec, zoom, centerforce, all have a reputation for disintegrating.

Did you check your main bearing retainer for galling or damage? If that's messed up, then the best TO bearing in the world will go out very quickly. Did you grease it before install?

Well when you have a blown up image liek that and aren't wearing your glasses and it looks like needle bearings and you don't see the lip on the back thats what a pilot bearing looks like. :) Damn i need to get some rest
