So i was selling my car and this kid ina 07 mustang 4.0 comes to see it well a couple weeks later i got everything that i needed to start driving it and since then the kid trys to rev it off to me, so maybe one of these days i rev it back and maybe go out to a backroad and see if he follows. my mods are K&N drop in, e303 cam, bbk shortys, flows, v6 rear end( i kno if i had 3.73 it would be mine) spec stage 3 clutch, and 18 inch fr500s 275/45/18x295/45/18 nitto envos. im pretty sure he will get me because of my gears but if i end up getting my gears, o/r h, sct tune im pretty sure i can take him right? he runs 15's. Any opinions? heres his youtube link with track runs-> http://www.youtube.com/user/leal5345stang

previous owner with cheap v8 swap, and no tune with cam, my car pulls pretty hard in second from 20-30mph and 35-40 in 3rd. may have a buyer in january so if he flakes then like i said those mods will be coming along with cobra front bumper and hood and new paint job....hopefully

You think it will be a driver's race?

If his 95 is healthy, it should be 230ish to the tires 290-300tq. I would say with a lighter SN, you should pull on the S197.

If you put a GT40 intake and some 40 or 40p heads, you should pull him HARD. Specialy with gears, oh and do an 8.8. Don't get gears for the 7.5, see if you7 can pick up an 8.8 with gears already done. I see them on craigs from $2-400 out here often.

well ya lol i know to do an 8.8 with 3,73, and ide rather fix visuals before actually going into performance, and it doesnt help that i have a huge box(takes up whole back seat) with 2 15" subs

You have shortys, mufflers and a E cam? it would be close untill you get gears. Swap a V-8 rear end with 3:73s or 3:55s and you will win easy.
Gears make a night and day difference in our cars.

Hm. When the HP limit was 230 in CMC, guys were making the #s with header back exhaust, pullies, and some had GT40 intake manifolds. Tuning is not allowed. 230 should be a pretty much rock stock 5.0, but you put some miles on it coupled with 'they're not created equal' and you get some variation.

stock GT 5.0s were around 195-200whp if my memory serves, changing a cam without doing anything else can often reduce HP. Just run them and find out.
