i have a 97 gt,and thanks for the help -i bleed the brakes and fixed the diif ,it turns out it was just the bearings-now its time to get some pipes put in-right now i have flowmaster and it dumps right after the mufflers-it sounds pretty good as it is and has a nice roar to it when your slowing down in gear but i want to know wich one will increase that roar,an x pipe or an h pipe?i want it to sound nice and deep like a muscle car not raspy like thos toy cars-so wich is better-whart exactly is the difference in sound?

The H-pipe will give you the muscle sound your looking for. Thats what I have and I prefer that sound. You can get some ideas if you search on Youtube aswell. Good luck

I like my X cause it gives the car a raspy nascar sound, but if you want a deep musclecar sound go with the H, im not too sure how the prochamber sounds ive never heard one.

X pipes are the way to go on a SN95 man H pipes are for the Fox Body cars, but its all in what you like man. my 98GT has a BBK o/r X-pipe and SLP Lm1 cat. it sounds raspy and mean as hell

Is there any difference in performance? It seems that an x-pipe would flow slightly better.

It does, but I really doubt you're going to really see/feel a big difference.

It's a few horsepower more for the X. I have a magnaflow catted x-pipe and a magnapack catback. It's nice and smooth down low, good sound and bass, and up top it SCREAMS. It doesn't drone and it's a lot louder outside than it is in the cabin. When I put the top down on my car it's like a wakeup call. My friend can't hear his 88 GT with a built motor and complete exhaust over me if we're both going WOT.
