Will a 2002 DASH harness fit in a 1996 with little to no complication?

Title.

basically, I’m doing a full interior swap from a newer year car. 2002 new edge charcoal gray to replace my 1996 two tone black/ graybrownish color.

I have the 2002 interior fully out. Console fully swapped over including the old console harness. I can take pictures of any connection from the dash of the 2002 car.

As long as you use the rest of the New Edge harness, yes. If you’re not doing that, you need to transfer your 96-98 stuff (cluster, wiring) over to the new dash. It’s not that bad when you have them side by side already.

Gauge clusters are different between 1996 and 2002. 1996 has electro-mechanical speedo/odometer, where the 2002 was electronic. If your car is automatic, 2002 also has a digital gear indicator on the dash, while the 1996 is going to have it on the shifter. Maybe you can swap the cluster from your 1996 into the 2002 dash? That would allow you to keep the original odometer (if that is important to you).
