minimal. once you start getting into higher spring pressures and other variables the lifters can't perform like they should. a better quality lifter will help make a little power but its probably not worth the money if you aren't having any issues. $200+ for what will probably come out to be 2-3hp on your set up

What are the complete specs on the N41 cam, and what is the rest of the combination? It doesn't seem too far off to me.

I made 285 with AFR's, Crane 2031, and a GT40 through an Auto..

I would think with the better manifold he would be passed me :dontknow: You never know though...numbers mean nothing, the real test is on the track.

quite possible. Either way, all that money and only 272hp? Shit i wouldn't live with that lol. I guess it depends on if it runs good and has a useable power band.

Very true, I was kind of upset with my numbers until I forgot the auto robs quite a bit more than the manual..(I am used to a 5 speed) but after looking at the grid, my power continues to clime and it is a smooth line all the way to 6000 and then starts to die off..

Even though Crane says the 2031 is only good to 5500, mine kept going and I put my cam in straight up..

we'll screw it. Who knows, they may have based numbers off of some other variable.

was it tuned or did you throw it on there to see what it would make? Damn man - why such huge headers?? What were your tq numbers?? I would imagine you lost a good amount of tq with 1 3/4" long tubes..

the car was only tuned by doing fuel pressure and timing.
the headers are very big i bought them with out knowing to much, i hope to supercharge it eventually do you think it would be worth getting 1 5/8 or just keep the 1 3/4. not shure if the would make more power with a supercharger, the torque numbers were low i think they were 280 ish

the big headers are hurting you a little but is defiantely get a tune... ive been talking to a shop and they told me that on 94-95 5.0s with a h/c/i that they usually pick up around 20-30 hp after a tune... the factory tune is far from good with a h/c/i... i made 267 with mine had svo heads, typhoon intake, and steeda 19 cam with tb, exhaust, etc... but i also had an internal vaccum leak...

Throw them up on eBay or something...

Get yourself some 1 5/8" headers, shorty or LT - whatever you want.

Unless you plan on going 331/347 etc...no need for 1 3/4"

lol I don't understand how people can claim you are loosing so much power from to big of a part. The large headers can easily be made up for by a set of chambered mufflers to gain the little amount of back pressure that helps with torque. I seriously think you have other issues.

the big headers will be good when you supercharge it, but if you dont plan putting a charger on it for a while id get a cheap set of shortys and keep the big headers sittin around until you do get a supercharger

I may be wrong but it may have to do with a loss of exhaust scavenging

back pressure is a myth.... its really flow v. velocity, once you understand that your on the road to making tons of power ;)
