Thanks guys, i know 3 27 would be good but atm fuel here is running at $10.16 to the gallon, and it wont be going down anytime soon, so i'm thinking of going for more mpg rather than trade for something more fuel friendly.

WTF that insane.. I was going to say i have the 308 out of my cobra with a shim pack and seal if you wanted for cheap but i think the shipping would be horriable to someplace with that kinda price for gas.. Here is a thought to ponder. My cobra with the 308 got 28-29 mpg on highway with the 373 and just cruising at about 68-70 mph i get 25-27.. If you havent done a stealler tune up O2s, spark, cap rotor, wires, oil, tranny fliud, rear fliud, and fuel/air filter i would recommend changing those off the bat.
me its 20-30k for o2s and spark
40-50k for tranny and rear fliud/cap rotor and wires also
10-15k fuel filter and air filter
Im kinda a pain when it comes to these things but then again i drive during the summer months and in a good yr i get 6-8k of driving
all this might cost you 150-200 depends on where you get it all from but its still cheaper then new gears, shims, gasket, and fliud $300? Then look at the labor that your going to have to do also..

Yep, you guessed it the UK, i also have a 4th gen Trans Am thats stock [unlike the Muzzy] and the fuel for that on top makes for quite a fuel bill in the summer but i only use that in the summer months. The stang is my daily except when they grit the roads when it snows, so i'm just going to have claw some mpg back somehow.

In the city with 3.73 I get way better mileage then 2.73's not sure about long highway runs. And yea with those gas prices I knew you had to be over there.

I get over 25mpg on the hwy at 70mph with a Trickflow H/C/I top end kit and 373 gears ( 5 speed car).. I can fill up my tank and drive 300 miles and still have 1/4 tank left..

I drive over 300 miles every 2 weeks from my business and my car gets better gas millage then my 02 4 cyl ranger...

I think it depends on how well your car runs and how you drive it ..

I really dont think your going to see that much of a difference compared to how much your going to pay to change them .

keep in mind that was without the blower and 42lb injectors so im sure all see a good drop in gas mileage now.lol

The car runs well, its got a ford racing crate motor, 2800 stall, Performance Automatic trans, and all the bits to help it run [inc a tune]. Everythings only got about 5k on it, and everythings well looked after, i do like to gun it here and there but am pretty sensible most of ther time, but i do a lot of motorway driving in it, at 55mph its not bad at all, but at 70 or over you can almost see the needle going down. ;)

I wonder what you have for your OD ratio? With 373 and a auto should get the same as people with manuals. hell my buddy runs 4.10 in a 95 auto and still is pushing 23-25 hwy.. But then again stock tranny with a shit kit.

Well after a long thought process [for me anyway] i went with 3.27:1 after all that should give reasonably good mpg on a run and it should still take off quicker than the original 2:73.
The 3:73 gears will be going into storage for when the price of fuel comes down. [hahahaha] as if. :(

Holland is one of the dearest places in Europe especially for fuel, but rip off Britain [as we call it] is a shock for most vistors i certainly wouldn't come back for a second time. :(
