It's actually pretty close to where I live. I need to just go check it out. I know everyone hates low ballers, but it says willing to negotiate, what do you think I should offer? I sent him an email to get some higher quality pictures and maybe the VIN. I'll post the better pics if I get them.

Kelly Blue Book says mine is worth about $5500 w/ 159K on it. (taken with a grain of salt) So $6000 sounds pretty good for a such a clean car with 74K miles. From the ad, it looks like a wheel/tire swap and a return to the OEM clutch cable would be in order.

ya remind him that 74k miles is not very low miles. Its close to 100k and thats alot when trying to sell a car.

I bought my car off craigslist and it showed very well, and the test drive went very well, and as soon as I got it half way home it started crapping out on me, and it will not pass emissions. So I guess you could say I got fucked... The carfax on mine showed the car to be in excellent shape and everything was legit, numbers matched and everything, but something was done to mine that carfax didnt show and now im stuck with a "project" when i needed a daily driver.

My opinion: make the owner take it through emission prior to the sale so you can see its good to go, run a carfax, and every other report you can, give it a good test drive that includes sitting in traffic, highway and city driving. Go somewhere where you can go WOT ( I didnt do this on mine and it makes a weird noise when you floor it ). FWIW Ill never buy off craigslist again, there are a lot of con artist out there just trying to make a buck and will do anything to make it.

I'm with Sapphire on this. With the minimal price difference between a GT and a Cobra, Cobra FTW.

But its not craigslist thats the problem, used car buying in general is risky business. You can have a car thats never been wrecked adn thats all well and good, but thats about all carfax is going to tell you. I could go buy a 2010 Mustang, never change the oil in it and sell it in a year or two and Carfax will say its a-ok!

yea down there for you guys. up here a clean low mileage GT sn95 is about $8k and cobra will be around $12k.

but i always contemplate selling my stang and getting a cobra sn95...rather have a saleen.

got my 97 with 55,000 miles supercharged and with couple sets of rims among other things for 8 grand in MN
but yeah i also agree never another SN95 GT at least not with original motor a termi swap would be cool though

drove good. sounded fuckin awesome! looked great. but.....it was hard to get into reverse. whats that mean. not all the time just when i went to back it back to where he had it parked
