ok so ive got my new hub and bearing assembly, was gonna put it on today but ran into some problems.

the disk rotor WILL NOT COME OFF. i dunno what it is. ive changed the rotors on my dads truck before, and his just slid right off after i got the brake assembly off.

so whats the deal here? im thinkin the impact of me hitting the curb has something to do with it. :BangHead:

I tried gettin mine off yesterday too and they won't come off.. i'm guessin they're just realllly rusted on there. Might have to get happy on it with a hammer.. Be careful though.

PB blaster around the hub and a hammer. IF your saving the rotor use a rubber one.

a rubber mallet aint gonna get it my friend. beat the poop out of the hub part of the rotor with a real hammer. Like a 3# hammer. Be careful not to hit the studs or the actual braking surface. Some of those things are a real bastard to get off when they get rusty and crusty. PB blaster will help too.

^^^ + 1000000. Just beat the crap out of it. The hammer wont hurt a thing unless you hit the studs or the actuall braking surface like he said. You'll probably see a bunch of rust come out onto the floor. Also if it doesnt work, you can grap a 2x4 rest it against the backside of the rotor and beat on it that way, just go little by little and on all different positions (12 oclock, 6 oclock, 9 oclock, 3 oclock, etc) untill it finally pops free

I'm not trying to be an a$$ in any way but according to your time line you:

Had a wreck (which damaged the hub)
Car wouldn't run right (diagnosed as a low cylinder)
Tranny started slipping

If you've been driving the car this whole time without fixing anything your doing more damage to weak or broken parts that will effect driveability, safety, and reliability. More than likely there is more damage than you realize and you need to take it to someone who knows what they are doing. Your doing nothing but tearing up, what was, a nice looking Mach. Don't come back with "if your not going to help don't reply" either because my advice is to take it to a mechanic or tell your father everything you know that is wrong with the car and let him decide what needs to be done. Personally since its been one problem after another id suggest trading it in before more damage is done. Your going to take a major loss but that's just how life goes.

Good luck

i guess ill just beat it more with the rubber mallet, i dont wanna mess up the rotor with a real hammer. if worse comes to worse ill use a real hammer. but i know the only problem is the hub ass. and the bearings, sounds like somethings grinding inside of it.

If you don't want to damage it you might want to try a lead or brass mallet. That "shouldn't" hurt anything.

you fail, i was talking about you not being able to get a rotor off....

bet you could not have gotten it off with the tools i had.

Maybe thats a sign you shouldnt work on your stuff if your not properly prepared...
