use a steering wheel puller. you can rent one from any auto part store.

put the "Claws" on each side of the rotor, put the shaft in the middle of the hub and start crankin' away... you can even put rags under the "claw finger things" if you dont want to even scratch your rotor.

When I was in the military(back in the day) a guy had something in the vice(don't remember what) and was swinging up with a 3lb. ball peen hammer. Well needless to say he cleanly missed and hit himself in the forehead. He fell like a rock. Knocked himself out, had a concussion and spent the night in the hospital under observation.

Looking back at it, it was kinda funny. But not at the time.

i make nuclear waste drum liners for the govt. the tolerances are so tight that once you put our liner in a 55gallon drum, it creates a vacuum and it wont come out... some guy at the site tried to get one out with vice-grips and they slipped and he hit himself in the face. ... ended up haveing to write a "Safety Report" on proper use of our product... .. . .. . lol!

hm.... i forget how large my friend galant's rotor was. thats what we had to use... we also used it to pull off the hub assembly instead of a slide hammer.

considering renting one is free, and he said he already tried using a hammer, i say go rent one and see what he can do with it.

as for whats in the center, i was under the impression he was replacing that, hense the fact that hes taking the rotor off in the first place...... i cut my OEM fuel lines pulling my motor... why? because im replacing them......

I really have to agree with what someone up above said. I would have taken it in to have someone with the correct tools and experience to do the job rather the trying to make do with what you have and advice from all us a-holes.....
