Does anyone have a complete wiring diagram of the wires for the air conditioning system. My compressor isnt getting power unless i have it straight wired with a relay. And then it works by the switch. But if i undo the straight wire then it wont kick itself on. I really wanna fix this before i screw something up. So any help would be greatly appreciated.

is the freon full? there is a low pressure sw preventing the comp from damaging itself if the freon is low. the comp will shut off at WOT also. the relay for the comp is in the ccrm

yes its full, I know someone that works at raffield and he hooked it to that machine and made sure it was full. And it still wouldnt kick on unless i run the straight wire. But do you think i would need a new CCRM? (and thats the big relay on the side of the radiator with all the wires, right?)

I had to jump the pressure switch on the accumulator to get mine to turn on so i could even fill it.

Now it works fine w/o the switch jumped.

I assume it wouldn't turn on because it was low on freon

I would turn it on and start at that switch. Put a jumper wire in. Give it a little bit and see if it kicks on. If it doesn't and that switch is getting 12v then move on to the next switch/sensor.

well i have it straight wired from the low pressure switch. then its ran to a relay and then down to the compressor, and itll kick on when i have it like that. But it just wont cycle on and off. The compressor is constantly running. What do you think has went bad between the low pressure switch and the compressor. I know the high pressure switch it good, i recently replaced both switches. But i do know if i dont have it straight wired, then the plug goin into the side of the compressor isnt getting power.

I'm having the exact same problem. I hardwired mine as well. I think it's working like it should, although low on freon, now that I've replaced the ccrm. My fuel pump relay went out, along with my fan relay and the a/c wasn't working so I've contributed it all to that stupid ccrm. I'll find out tomorrow when I recharge my a/c. If it kicks on with the factory switch then it's probably the ccrm. I replaced the pressure switch, checked fuses, checked clutch for operation, and replaced the switch inside and still didn't work right. Replaced the ccrm saturday so we'll see. I'll let ya know.

alright. just keep me updated. Ive been told that its probably the ccrm. I typed it in on google and it brought up this escort forum, here's the link http://www.ford-forums.com/ford-escort/4569-2000-ford-escort-constant-control-relay-module-ccrm.html
They tell you how to replace just the A/C Relay inside the CCRM. It'll save you from buying a new CCRM. Im gonna do this as soon as i test my CCRM with a test light to be sure if its problem.

yeah i went thru all of that and it ended up a ton easier just to get the ccrm from the auto parts store. advance auto parts i think i got it there. it was like 89 bucks total. there was a core charge too but i brought mine in when I ordered it. simply unbolt and replace.
