Sounds like you're pretty brand loyal... Not sure what you're going on a rant about.

All I said was you're not going to get a warm welcome here. And you can't really say a small block ford is any less exciting than a LS.

Don't be a hard head dude. I would put a viper engine in it if i would find one cheap enough. Just so happens that I can get an LS motor for $400. All i said was that the LS motor is a good bang for buck and its what I know. That makes me brand loyal? Ok then, guess I am. What are you trying to prove here?

No JT it doesn't bother me much at all...it IS your build & I will respect the craftsmanship you put into it & the power it puts out. I just like being the underdog & beating the much bigger chevy engines when I am not expected to do so. (If I ever do...hehe) The chevy motors are cheap & easy to make high HP with...the design stayed much the same with tons of interchangeable parts for many generations. Ford did a good job with the 289 & 302 & now the Coyote...The fastest production car bar none is the CobraJet racer...with a proven record...I just LOVE the Esprit de Corps of all Blue Oval beating down Bowties & FRIENDLY rivalry between all camps...makes for fun & lively comparisons.

However when I come across a Mustang with a chevy swap I just feel letdown & I lose interest because it has nothing I want to learn or emulate anymore, I WILL respect the work & the results as I said but it will not light my fire!...sure it may be harder with a Ford engine but entirely doable & the new techniques or parts really hold my attention & I make notes that may be good for me to do also. The new Coyote swaps are popping up everywhere & getting easier & easier, just set a HP goal & voila!...you can do it quickly & easily. I guess it makes me feel better having Brand Loyalty...Fords have treated me very well over the last 52+ years (minus one true lemon '88 F150!)! and the bodies & components held up much better than the chevies I have owned....if just wasn't for those darn powerful chevy engines! LOL...carry on in your own way! You are a TRUE enthusiast & your fellow Bowtie powered friends are legion! On my Bucket list is to beat one chevy 350!

I'm not offended? I just think the whole ehhh I have a mustang therefore it can never have anything but a ford engine mentality is pretty lame. You never see people swapping 5.0's into Fbodys or corvettes... wonder why? Either way, I have always been a mustang guy at heart, just a different engine :)

I will admit... in the future i want to make a stupidly fast turbo 2v.... just because 2v's get such a bad rap.... My first love was my 2002 Mustang GT i bought when i was 17. It is what first got me into cars, i sold it to a kid who put it into a swamp.. breaks my heart!

the day i got her, aug 9th 2004

I approve of everything you are doing.

I think it's different and I appreciate anything different in the car world.

LS motors are badass. I wanna throw one in a 240sx someday.

YES! I approve of this big time. Interested to see how this comes out!
I like how it went from a girlfriend cruiser to a ripped apart stang with plans to become a killer!!

Keep up the good work!

Im with Ferocious on this one
its not common and your putting a fun engine in a fun platform good for you man
f*** brand loyalty and what not, at least its not an import engine!
The LS engine responds so well to bolt ons and a tune its ridiculous! at least you got a sexy body to carry around that power :)
Like my chevy friends always use to say
friend
"you know how to make that mustang fast?"
me
"how?"
friend
"put a chevy engine in it!!"
me
"grumble grumble"

When guys go out and put a V8 into a import, there is no V8 option there. So if you want a V8, transplanting one is your only option.

It's not brand loyalty, you're basically saying, I can't make power with a Ford V8 so I'm going with another brand. And in the end you won't be able to pay someone to take it. Lost it's identity, not a Mustang or a GM. Just a fail. :(

It's not that poor Mustang's fault you don't have the skills. It looks like a clean one too.

Anyway, the boosted 2V seems like a sweet plan. Forged PI 2V + cams + some boost = 700HP. Now there's a equation we can all live with!

Yay! A LS swap! YAYYY!

I'll be doing this swap eventually. I'd like to find a nice stock LS2/T56 to drop in my 95. Lightweight, stock reliability, and still be pretty darn fast. I've considered boost, a 351W swap, and even a 4V swap or Coyote swap but unless a wrecked Cobra or Mach 1 falls in my lap, I'm pretty sure I'm going LS. I'll be watching.

PS- If you don't like the build, then hit the back button. No need to get butthurt because someone else is building a car that isn't yours with their money how they want.
