1999 COBRA VATS NEED HELP!!!

i have a wrecked 99 cobra the key and lock cylinder are missing so bought one and dealership couldnt get the key programed. so my question is that if i take a lock cylinder,key,vats or pats module and computer of a 96-98 gt and put it in the 99 cobra will it work?? i heard the vats or pats on the 96-98 wont work on the 99 cuz the 99 vats is programed in with the instrument cluster???

hm. not sure about the 99 gauge cluster problem. BUT i know from experience that many 1996-1998 GT computer components will not simply "plug into" 99+ parts...

yea ive figured all this out now but the reason ford couldnt get the other key programmed thatt was bought was cuz it was bought from a prts house and they said buy one from ford and they should b able to program it and i did read where the vats is linked in sumhow with the gauge cluster for sumhtin... VATS=CONFUSION
