2010 Hot Rod Power Tour

After backing out of going on the Power Tour last year, I have made attending this year's my new year resolution. My friend and her dad go on it every year and I planned on tagging along last year but money and car issues got in the way. This year its going down and I think it'd be pretty sweet to get some of my SN95 brothers in on it too. The Tour kicks off at Iowa Speedway on June 5th and winds its way down to Mobile, AL on the 11th with Long Hauler awards on the 12th. I've done cleared it with the parentals so the 95 will be rolling the whole distance. My dream for the past forever was to do it in a classic but I know taking the 67 is asking for trouble so ole Whitey is going to make the trip. I figured I'd go ahead and post it up early and see if I could get some more fellas to join in. So lets do it. :headbang:

I plan on doing that in 2 years... What kind of cars attend? Are there a lot of imports too?

From what Janea (my friend) tells me, there are tons and tons of cars there. I'm sure there are a few imports there at least, but I doubt there will be any ricers. This is put on by the Hot Rod magazine after all. I sent her on a mission to find a list of cars and she found all of them except for a DeTomaso Pantera.

I wish I could do it. i remember when it came thru florida back before i could drive.. we sat beside I-4 and watched all the cars. I did the NOPI power tour a few years ago from miami to atlanta, ga but that was mainly ricer heaven. drove an 03 lightning.

I ran the whole trip with my dad, uncle, grandpa, and cousin in our 66' Fairlane and 88' Fox 5.0. It's a BLAST and i'm sure i'll be going again this year. There are hardly any imports at all, just a few monster miatas and triumphs. I highly recommend going. There's drag racing, slaloms etc etc. It's just a great time, good people and lots of cars.

I put it up on the events calender on our Wildhorse Facebook group so we can pay attention to the members that are going to attend. I went on one a few years ago; very fun.

You couldn't get a couple weeks off, even with 7 months of advance notice? I plan on going the full distance. So I'll be driving up about halfway before even getting started. I'm so pumped.

I have always wanted to drive on it but sadly it hasn't come anywhere near the southwest since '00. (it had a stop in Alb back in '00 and it was soooooooo kick ass!)
