It's called the SMS, 460 and 460X

A little info I found:

SMS Supercars has created a new version of the Ford Mustang. The 2010 SMS 460 Mustangs will come out later this year where they will feature a base price tag of $64,990 for the SMS 460 that is powered by a 4.6-litre V8 engine with 470-horsepower and 427lb-ft of torque.

The 0-100km/h time will be set at 4 and a few split seconds. The Convertible SMS 460 Mustang will start at $69,990 and it will feature the same performance as the hardtop.

The SMS 460X Mustang will start at $85,961 and it will feature power from a 5.0-litre V8 engine with a new SMS 296 Supercharger which will produce 655-horsepower and 600lb-ft of torque. The SMS 460X will get from 0-100km/h in a low 4 second time. The convertible model will start at $90,961.

Driving to the gfs place in Azusa I passed his new shop on the 91 in southern CA. Hes probably charging so much to pay for the place. Very nice place. Agreed though, for 85k someone could build 2 terminators and a 94-98 cobra... haha.

Uh, the mustang... it's getting as bad as the toyota supra with senseless overpricing. $90,000 for a saleen. Oh well, it's just as bad as the saleen S351 back in the 90's... OVERPRICED. The saleen s351 is what the cobra should've been... haha.

True, I haven't updated myself on the current price of Porsches but I'm pretty sure any Porsche you can buy for 85g isn't going to be nearly as fast as the 460X.

Idk why you guys are bitching so much about price, it's obviously not for the every day Mustang enthusiast. People that buy them aren't going to be people worried about spending that much on a Ford lol.

+1
not to mention saleen's saying is "power in the hands of a few," besides if they made it cheap they would be going against everything they stand for. lol

Is the price ridiculous to us? Yes. That's probably why we're driving SN's lol. There's no question that they won't have a problem selling every one.

I don't like the overall look as well as the old S197 S281, but the rear end is pretty wicked.

The whole world doesn't revolve around straight-line speed. Driving a well-balanced mid-engine Porsche is a completely different experience. Not to mention, you'd be driving a Porsche, not a Mustang.

Yes, but the S-197 mustang is not just a straight line performing car. It won the GT4 European cup, and the Grand am Koni challenge... twice. Besides, these aren't fox bodies anymore. Even when the S-197 came out in 2005 it was considered inferior because of it's solid rear axle, but it has proven to be a very good race car. Easily competing with Porsches on the race track. Thats just something to consider.

Something else to consider is that the SN95 mustang made history with the Saleen rrr (mustang 351) in 1997 at Le-mans. It may not have gotten first place but it did beat more than one Porsche 911, a McLaren F1 GT-R, a Viper, Callaway corvette, and an assorment of other cars. Even though a Porsche won the race, I believe the SN-95 faired pretty darn good, and is the reason I like them.

I totally agree, but since when has Saleen only been about straight line speed? They set their cars up in the suspension department as well... Obviously a Porsche is an overall nicer car, but the 460X is for someone who wants a kick ass Mustang.
