been looking around for a Vortech or Procharger set up for NPI 2vs. all i see are for 99-04's. what would yall reckon would be needed to put on a npi car? i figured at least a bracket or two..any ideas?

^^also thought about just puttin a pi motor in my car..lol..

for teskid shortblocks. are the cranks any stronger then a 2vs?

also seen coyote rods will fit in a 2v motor. true or no?

its almost tax return time..so crunchin numbers..

The only difference is the brackets...I would just buy a used vortech head unit then go to superchargersonline and buy the bracket and w/e you need from them. You can usually piece together a kit for like 1500 bucks.

Not sure about the coyote thing but not sure why you would do that over a set of forged rods an pistons.

And I would assume the crank in the teksid shortblock is no better than ours.

I have a procharger bracket if you want to buy it. Its piece of metal .lol

honestly, you shouldnt even waste your time if you are planning on putting a blower on a non pi h/c/i car. You wont even be at 300rwhp and would hate to see you spend your money for gains like that. I vote first do bolt ons, PI intake at a minimum than maybe start looking at boost

Bolt one are worthless on a npi unless its a pi part haha. My bolt on npi with pi intake made good power with boost but I was pushing 12 psi too

in my opinion, the only bolt ons worth a shoot in the breeze with a NPI was gears and Nitrous. when i had a lightened front end and forged motor it was wayyyy more powerful then the NPI.

I think all of the teskids did have forged cranks. I don't think anything changed until the WAP, when they put six bolts in the autos. not sure if the six bolt in the WAP's was forged or not though, as I just recently learned of it.

the reason we responded like we did is because you specifically asked about putting boost on a non pi motor...read your first post pal

Just throwing this out there: my NPI car made over 300 rwhp with 6 psi (stock cams). :)

lol, details?

bone stock NPI? what kind of boost? centir? turbo? PD?

Maybe you were just on a generous dyno cause what your saying doesnt really make much sense.

Lets assume a stock NPI makes 190 rwhp, 5 speed.

to see a 50% gain you would need roughly 8 psi,(14.7 psi is standard PSI in our atmosphere so 14.7 psi would be roughly 100% gain in power in a boosted car) and a 50% gain would be 95 rwhp there and would still put you 285 rwhp, and still doesnt take into account the fact that a supercharger probably eats up 30-40 rwhp to spin which would knock you down to 250-260 rwhp.

Not saying it didnt happen, but I am saying it doesnt make much sense from a logical stand point using what we know about our world and how engines work and that dyno must have been EXTREMELy generous for you to see 300 rwhp on 6 psi.....cause it seems like a stretch even on 10 psi.
