Yea I got pretty lucky, cause they were pretty well priced and I didn't even think about that either. I'll post some pics this week as parts go back into place

I know of 2 bbk versions for the 4v. The old dreaded version wraps around steering shaft...major pain! I wasnt sure if the 2v bbk's were like that

Here is a little video of what it sounds like since I put the long tubes. It is open headers for now and tranny works great. Timing chain tensioner went out again yesterday so I am going to tear into it again...

So I just read this from the beginning, and I have to say that I am very impressed. For starters, putting a turbo on the V6 is pretty neat by itself. And going from that to a mod-motor with a carb is just crazy cool. Great work so far. I am sure you will get all the little bugs worked out. Keep us posted.

Thanks! Its been a lot of work haha. But coming along. I got the tensioner back in order and its running pretty good so far, need to get the oil leaks taken care of this week.

And speaking of a lot of work, the timing chain tensioner went out again. After doing a bunch more research I am pretty sure I know what the problem is. I am going to take the chain off and redo the whole thing as I think the problem is because of how the chain is sitting on the gears. The slack (when you first put the chain on) is on the guide side, not the tensioner arm side.

If this does not work, I am not sure what the problem is!

Alright, so today I spent the day with my car. I thought if I spent the whole day with it, just me and it, it would treat me better... haha

but I inspecting the timing stuff a little closer and looks like I either received a stretched out chain to begin with or I stretched it when trying to get the tensioner to work. Either way, I think I found the problem. So on with a new chain, the tensioner was fine still and I am not sure how but the chain did not jump a tooth. I also rebuilt the oil cooler and oil filter adapter. Finally!!! No more leaks! Just that feels refreshing.

I even got a little time to clean up the inside and do some small detailing things (trying to get rid of some rattles)

Let's hope the timing setup will last

Thanks man! I am pretty sure people see an update on it and they just don't bother cause they are thinking it's just that something else broke or isn't working haha.

I am not really sure what the culprit was, surely not 3 bad tensioners in a row. I called around to some mod motor guys and they all think it was the chain. Either a bad chain to start or I could have stretched it when I thought the tensioner wasn't doing its job. Unless I really do have bad luck and the cam was machined off center and causing the chain to stretch.

Definitely sick of the headaches, and have just about sold it a couple times. Luckily I have a good woman and she talked me out of selling it every time.

As long as everything stays together, i am bringing it to Bandimere on the 8th for a last hoora before the season is over.

Go figure, another bad update.

Timing chain is already slapping again. Not even 15 miles. So what ever it is, it is getting worse.

I have a hunch it is in that cam gear. But I am going to just take everything off and take a close look and do some measuring to see if I can't find the problem.

Really starting to get frustrating and bringing me down on the this build.

Thanks man!

I got everything off tonight. I don't notice anything weird, other than the fact that one position the chain is tight, then 20 degrees later it is tight again.
