326 hp gt40 cobra intake e303 cam HCI swap on a 94 GT

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok second dyno numbers back up the first! 1994 5.0 is pushing 326 hp! Since these numbers are so far above what the general consensus is for a 5.0 with my mods I used my Mach 1 as a control. Its not a scientific method but at least the new dyno shop is providing numbers consistent with a totally different dyno shop with the same Mach 1.

I had a dyno run for my Mach 1 last year at a different shop and got 307.9 hp. Since that run I added an intake spacer and ud pullies to the Mach. New dyno numbers at the new shop garnered 321 hp for the Mach. (dyno sheets attached) Sounds about right from what I've heard the spacer and ud pulley mods gain. I'm judging the dyno numbers from this new shop as sound since the numbers from the two separate shops seem to be the expected gains for the mods I've put on the Mach 1.
Now the 5.0

I ran my 5.0 at this new shop on two different days. the first numbers were 324 hp. The second time around we got 326 hp.The next step is to take the 5.0 to a third dyno shop to further verify the hp trq numbers.

mods are:
95 cobra upper and lower intake with 1 inch spacer
gt40 iron(?) heads, 1.7.roller rockers exhaust only, 1.6 roller rockers on the intake valves
ford e303 cam
255 lph walbro fuel pump, 24# injectors
mac underdrive pullies
76mm c&l CAI intake, 70mm throttle body
mac shorty headers, mac o/r prochamber, mac cat back
msd 6 box, msd wires, platinum plugs, msd billet distributor,
3.73 gears

1st two dyno sheets are from the Mach 1, 2nd two dyno sheets are from 94GT:

great numbers man. Making peak power at 5k and just dropping right off doesnt sound very fun. When you run the car just it just fall flat on its face after 5k

The tracks have all closed for the winter around here so I will have to wait till spring for numbers. I will also get it dynoed again at a different shop for comparison. I realize the numbers are higher than whats expected for the mods and since I havent even gotten the car up to 55mph since I drove it home in the snow from the tuner I don't even have a seat of the pants feel yet. But I am going to enjoy the ride whether those numbers are the truth or some sort of fluke. LONG LIVE THE 5.0! :headbang:

Yes its a stock block. I'm riding high on the numbers now, but again, it hasnt been tested. So of course I'm a little leary. I asked the tuner about the numbers and they stand by them. And I tested my Mach on the same Dyno and my Mach numbers were congruent with numbers attained at a different dyno shop. I believe the tuners know what they are doing and the shop has a good local reputation for producing outstanding builds. its just weird seeing those high figures. But hopefully, its some sort of fantastic fluke and I can just enjoy. Cant wait for the weekend!

Anything is possible. There is a guy on another board I moderate and his Dad has a 89 Hatch I believe...

Completely stock motor and 3.73's it went low 13's. Some cars just make power...it happens.

You're not gonna run it with street tires, are you?

I made 281RWHP with my GT40 setup in my 92 LX.

75mm MAF
70mm TB
GT40 Tubular Intake
Ported GT40 Heads
1.7's
Crane 2031
Shorty headers
3.73's

Fastest I went was with ET/Streets and I went [email protected]

I am excited to see what you do.. :eek:ccasion14:
