I have a 94 gt with that i recently did a h/c/i swap with the aluminum gt-40 heads, TFS Stage 1 cam, 1.7 roler rockers cobra intake 180 lph fuel pump and C+L 76 mm mass air meter. The car doesn't run worth a crap its not hardly any faster than the day i brought it into the shop to do the swap. Do i just need to get the car tuned? WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?

is your mass are meter calibrated to your fuel injector size? all vaccuum lines etc, connected. I would also highly reccomend getting a full dyno tune done.

Seat of the pants feel is not going to be monumental. You added about 50 hp at the tires with that combination of parts...so it's not going to feel the same as if you put 150 shot of nitrous on it.

Having said that, the 94/95 computers aren't as "mod friendly" as their earlier counterparts and came from the factory with even more conservative tuning.
A tune will help quite a bit in my opinion...but I'm not sure you are going to get what you were after.

What trans is in the car? What maf/injectors? What gear ratio?

The car is a 5 spd with a 76mm C+L mass air meter calibrated to 19 lb injectors 3.73 gears I've done some reading and most of it points to the computer. They seem to measure fuel and spark curves differently than a fox style computer? But maybe im wrong. I know the heads and all aren't a set of AFR's but i would think that the combination would make more power than it does. What do you guys think are the parts matched to each other or am i just out of the ballpark? Also, i live in North Alabama and really haven't found a place that can tune these cars, it's all 96 and up do yall know of anywhere that's good with these cars?

Yeah any time you change that much of the engine you're gonna need a tune to get it running optimally, pre tune my car wasn't much faster than before but the more you drive the car normally the more the computer adjusts for your setup. Ultimately a dyno tune is the way to go to get the max potential out of your build; then you'll definitely feel a difference.

Timing w/spout out is about 16 degrees

Personally I'd suggest 10 degrees since the car is untuned and not running ideal, and when you get it dyno tuned they probably won't want the timing advanced anyways. 16 is pretty high regardless, i'd at least back it down to 12.

X2.. especially since you are probably running lean now, no need to crank up the timing. I would back the timing down to 10-12,
find a shop near you, and get a tune. In the meantime play it safe and keep your foot out of it.

Where at in North Alabama are you?

I know of a good shop that specializes in Mustangs in Kentucky if you're up for getting it there.
