I've searched and it seems that A LOT of you use this pump. at least almost every ride of the month winner, as that's about the only threads search gives me, haha. anyone have any issues with it? I've read mixed reviews. some love it, some hate it. fuel starvation is a problem i've read more than once regarding the fuel bucket.

Gotta run it with a constant 12V wire and a fuel pressure regulator. The 98's have a variable speed pump to regulate fuel pressure, it'll burn up a pump that is meant to run constant like the Walbro. ..The previous owner of my car burned up two of them before he figured it out. You may not have a regulator on your fuel rail, some 98's didn't cause they were thrown together with whatever was left before the 99's came out and changed body styles. I have rails from a 96 on mine.

98's are an oddball year. i looked for the regulator. i've read it could be built in on the drivers side or mounted off to the side on the passenger side? this correct. my driver side has nothing, but the passenger side looks to have a seperate FPR. but i'm unsure. i'll need an aftermarket one correct? or is that just if i have the spoofed rails some 98's have.

Some of them have a removable FPR that can be replaced by an adjustable one. Mine didn't, it had a regulator that was welded as part of the passenger side fuel rail and could not be removed. I had to replace my stock rails with one's from a 96 so I could install an adjustable regulator. Some 98's have them, some don't. I have yet to park next to another 98 and have everything be 100% the same. The oil fill is another thing that is constantly different. Mine is on the drivers side and sometimes it's on the passenger side. ..damn FMC

A lot of the 98's use the Focus pump.
So on the 96 or 97 they're designed to be run continuously? I have a Walbro 255 in mine and apart from it being loud (no interior) it's provided me with a few thousand miles of good service. I've never heard of the fuel starvation problems.
I also want to to change fuel pump in my 1998 GT. What about this pump?

I know im a 96 but i have a walbro in mine and love it, never had an issue with it run almost 10k on it with 38lb injectors and shes doing just dandy, and yes it is a lil noisy but if your racing you dont notice muahahahhaha
