My mechanic said it was a ***** to install by himself. Atleast if you have a 2nd person they can be in the car and you can be under adjusting the cables and stuff. I got it for xmas. I really like it, fun to just slap it in 1st gun it, shift to 2nd then into D. I'm going go get a ball shift knob soon to replace the t handle it came with. I think its worth the $$ if you drive an auto. You gotta ratchet thru each gear, takes some getting used to but once you do its real easy to use. Definately worth the $$

It's not that bad, my mechanic said it was a b*tch. That's because he does all the work himself lol. So picture going inside the car then underneath every 5 mins. Best thing is to have a buddy give you hand it'll go a lot quicker and easier. Once thing that i really like about the shifter is that when you put it in park it looks the shifter is in neutral (stays in the middle). I just changed my shift knob to a plain black ball, looks a 1000x times better.

Lol it'll definately help you out greatly. I liked the t-handle in the beginning, has a little bulge to it on the right hand side. I actually turned the shift knob more toward the right so I can grip it easier. I went to pep boys, got a plain black ball from a brand called Pilot Automotive. Says fits 8-15mm on the box, it'll fit the ratchet shifter. It came with 4 black plastic adapters to put over the thread on the shifter, the size that worked for me was 14. Says diff numbers on each black adapter thingy

out of curiosity, how much did the mechanic charge you joe?

I didn't have only the shifter installed, I had a cai (really a ram air intake), new maf and the shifter. charged me 200 to do all of that, he had the car all day. Everything was done right the first time, nothin busted, nothing loose, everything went like it was supposed to. My dad split the bill with me since I'm broke lol. A mechanic my sisters bf uses tried to charge my bro $250 to put his ratchet shifter in his 91 fox, they literally worked on the car for like less than 2 hours. Needless to say they refunded some of the $$, i hate fcuk's like that.
