Haven't posted anything about it here before...
The car:
Basically, about 5 years ago I bought it for $500, 4 banger, automatic, gray interior, rod knock, clean title, pretty clean body/paint, I'm in CA so there's no rust.
I used a donor car, and swapped in a stock 5.0, T5, and changed the interior to black.
I ran a best of 13.01 @ 104mph with a 1.7 60' with the stock motor, 3.73 gears, slicks, short belt, longtube o/r exhaust...basic bolt-ons
Moved to socal, started road racing and doing more auto-x's instead of drag racing.
Built my `97 fobra, and got bored with the stock motor's rpm range and power, it was still fun but it no longer scared me
I had it dyno'd for a baseline -
not bad...but I want double that.
Before:
as it turns out, it had a blown head gasket, interesting.
stock shortblock cleaned up, just some simple green, wd40, and scotch pads
