are quad shocks necessary?

I have a 94 GT with all sorts of suspension upgrades. Koni shocks, Steeda sport springs, aluminum lower control arms, adj. upper control arms, & adj. rear swaybar. My 18x10 wheels are a little too close for comfort, so I'm wondering if the quad shocks are totally necessary with all these other parts?

If you have a good set of lower control arms just take them out. Mine are taking up space on my garage floor

I was talking to a guy that worked for ford, and worked on the suspension for our cars, he said the main reason they are there is to get rid of axle hop in reverse... I took mine out
