Thinking about it again and it almost makes me sick, but the time has come that it might be best to sell the car. If I do this I will be asking a relatively high price due to the condition of the car and the extensive list of parts that come with the car whether installed or otherwise.

This is not a for sale ad. But I would like some feedback from fellow enthusiests on a starting price... from past experience I know this is a tough crowd but you all will be realistic.

Quick run down on the car...

95 canary yellow GTS (1 of 344)
55k miles
all remaining stock parts will go with car (ie. stock hood, decklid, mid-pipe, intake, etc.)
BBS RK's 18x8.5's and 25mm hubcentric spacers

On the car:
Vortech S-trim
adn all supporting mods
H&R super sport springs
03/04 control arms
Bassani exhaust
TF 18x9 and 18x10.5's
MachI polished pbr's and 13" powerslot rotors
ss braided brake lines
spec stg 2 clutch
spec alum flywheel
frpp alum ds

lots of other stuff I'm not taking the time to list (hand polished oe cobra intake, polished canton vc's, autometer gauges, etc.)

So... I will be asking 13k if I decide to sell. Am I out of my mind or is that a reasonable asking price.

and here's my thinking behind the price...

13k for everything (all stock parts, anything and everything on the car)
I have the oem mint condition headlights, hood, decklid, mirrors, a pillar
TF rims generally run about 3k alone, w/o rubber
BBS RK rims are worth over 1k again w/o rubber
Both sets of rims have tires - 1k in tires
Blower resale value would be 2k not counting supporting components

that is 7k in easily removable parts and you are left with a 6k price tag on a 55k mile GTS with a sweet stance and great drivetrain mods...

so, what do you guys think?

I would also sell my 98 jeep grand cherokee if the car sold.

yeah, I'm trying to get into graduate school... which would take at least another 3-4 years. My jeep is nice but I want something with better gas mileage that I know will last the next 5 years with minimal problems.

I also need 4 door. I would be looking for something in the 10-14k range after selling both of my current vehicles.

Just not sure what I want to do...

I have to get into Grad school, I have expensive hobbies... haha. I have a BS and it is not cutting it. I work full time and barely clear 20k a year.

man that sucks if you sell, that is one sweet car! maybe thought of going back to the RK's and selling the Tf wheels and maybe sell the blower. that would give you a nice chunck of money to go with and maybe be able to keep the car.

Full time working and only 20k a year, maybe a career change could help make more and keep the car.

that is one option I've considered, selling all the wheels, blower... and trading the jeep on a more gas friendly DD that will last me the next 5 years.

I'm in a good field, but there is no middle ground... either you make jack squat (like I do now) or you make a decent living. Either way I need a masters or doctorate degree. I'm a therapy technician working in a local hospital. I'm going back to school for a DPT to practice physical therapy or a masters to practice occupational therapy. Then I can get another mustang and actually have the money to mod it as wanted... plus be able to afford a home. Right now I have a nice car, but no home. Got to have priorities, selling the car and setting this money aside seems to be the best route to me right now.

i totally underatand. It would just such a shame to see anyone else with that car, because you always know in the back of your mind that no one would care for it as you have. if you had to sell some parts, and trade the jeep you could make take the tags off the mustang and let it sit int he garage until the time is right. wouldnt be costing you any money, and maybe still be able to get a mod or two for it if any extra money would allow.

Man this is rough. Imo instead of asking so much for the car you're better off selling the extra parts you have for money. Even though you have all that extra stuff I don't think most people are going to be able to see it that way and be wililng to shell out 13g for a GTS, even though it is a rare car. At the very least you should sell whichever set of your wheels can pull more coin separately, probably your new ones and go from there. If you can sell your extra parts and make enough money to keep your car I think that'll make the most sense in the long run. If you think you're going to want a car like you have now in 5 years or so it would be best to keep the one you already have and know.

well, I don't need money right now. I'm not selling the car due to financial need. I have money in savings, cd's, etc.

But as I've already mentioned my current job is not exactly stellar... it will help me get back into school though and the experience is invaluable.

Selling the car allows me to save on insurance costs, plus I will save at the pump because I do a lot of driving with the Jeep and it sucks on mpg.

I'm also thinking long term here. Selling the car will allow me to invest more money for future use. I can sell both cars, get a very nice, dependable car and drive it for the next 4 years or so...

I see, your setting yourself up for success now, so you can really play later. If it was me............ I would trade the jeep for a nice, fuel efficient 4dr cruiser, sell off all the extra Mustang parts, possibly store the Stang for a bit to save your $$ by not operating it, and chase the dream of grad school. < but thats me.... just voicing my thoughts.

that's exactly it mikey... I want to have a nice dependable car to drive on a daily basis. Selling both my current vehicles gives me the extra cash to pay for a nice car, plust put more money in the bank. I don't do car payments so a car loan is not an option.

But nothing is set in stone, and I haven't listed the car anywhere yet. I must just try and sell a bunch of crap and park it. It could sit in my fathers heated garage for the next couple years on blocks without a running motor as far as that goes...

Maybe I'll just run around a lot this summer and enjoy the car, then into storage with nothing but comprehensive ins on it and strip it of it's goodies. Wheels, blower, etc... sell that stuff, sell the jeep and get a nice car to get me through grad school.
