I miss az pretty well year round but especially this time of year. Barret jackson is a show that every car dude should make the pilgramage to see at least one time in their life. Imagine 4 football fields filled with the rarest/craziest cars you have and have not ever heard of. Saw everything from GM prototypes to monster garage cars the years I went. It was even fun just driving around town at this time as you never knew what you would see. Saw a jaguar XJ220 on the way home one day.... Check it out if you are ever in the area the speed coverage is cool but just isn't the same.

Luckily the pilgramage for me is only an hour's drive away :)
Scott isn't lieing, the speed channel does not do it justice. Some of the craziest cars are not seen on there. My friend got a hot lap in ZR1 today. And there's booze and hot ladies. Not even kidding, *****es love passes on lanyards and millions of dollars in cars worth XD

I was there when they sold carrol shelby's super snake. That was pretty cool....

The 2nd time I went I was in a bus shuttling from the parking lot when suddenly the guy next to me said he heard they show this on tv with an british accent. I was stuck in line buying tickets and he walked in I would have loved to follow him around to see his expressions all day. For a newb it would be like the daytona and indy 500 being put together.

I go every year since it's a half hour from my house. I was there Monday for the opening night gala, and again Saturday all afternoon/night. Some friends of mine have platinum VIP bidder's passes so they give me and my GF guest passes. When the Batmobile sold for $4.2MM the whole room was going nuts. Still wasn't as loud as when Pratt bougth the GM bus a few years back. The cars are nice, no doubt, but if you want to see "holy shyt I've never seen that before ever" cars everywhere you look, then a trip to the Monterey auctions is far better. The Scottsdale Barrett Jackson cars are nothing compared to the Gooding or RM auction cars in Monterey. Where else will you see a '63 Ferrari 250 GTO driving down the road? That actually happens, and I couldn't believe what I was seeing.

Paul.
