I have been eyeing the MGW shifters but ive heard good things about the tri ax and the pro 5.0. Can I get some opinions on this?

The pro 5.0 would be my choice if I only used the car for racing but I am running a tri-ax in my 2nd mustang now because for everyday driving I think it has the most comfortable feel

One thing I really like about MGW is that it has absolutely no play at all where the pivot ball is. It is absolutely solid, which is more than I can saw for my Pro 5.0. One thing I don't like about MGW is that you are stuck with their shifter handle whether you like it or not. I've got a Roush handle, which throws the handle back a good distance. Sure as hell makes reaching for 3rd and 5th easier.

Pro5.0 with a tri-ax handle is probably my favorite for slamming gears. But the MGW is very nice and solid

MGW has always seemed to be a favorite. Pro5.0 seems to be gaining ground per this thread. I've had 2 or three Tri-Ax's in different cars and love it. Probably won't ever go to something else, but mostly because I'm consistent with it.

I think the handle makes the "feel" of the shifter. I've never owned and MGW, I know Steeda and Pro 5.0 though and handle length and angle make a big difference.

The majority is going to tell you MGW or Tri-Ax. Both are great shifters but the Tri-Ax has a more notchy feel so its all personal opinion.

Never used an MGW but have used a few PRO 5.0s. Gotta say I'm a fan of the all steel construction.

tri-ax is what I have and very happy with it. I'm even more happy that I scored a steeda comfort pro handle before they disappeared and now I love it. No reaching for 1st/3rd any longer.

Ok so when yall say notchy feel, so does that mean when you go into a gear it clicks as apposed to a smoother feel of the MGW?

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say that your shifter doesn't determine how notchy your shifts are. That depends on the transmission. The shifter just connects you to the transmission. Some shifters will be more loose or tight, but that shouldn't really determine how notchy the shifts are.
