Decided my CAI had seen better days and needed to be completely redone, last time I did a flame pattern which was a complete waste of time since you couldn't see it at all so I went with something much cleaner this time

You can see how it was getting beat up hitting the STB

Also installed my HIDs, I got a set of 9007-2 in 6000K so I still have halogen high beams, my fogs are 3000K bulbs

Halogen highs, the light is so yellow it almost matches the fogs

No idea on the MFG, I bought a whole HID kit off a member here then ended up selling the bulbs he provided and buying the 9007-2 6K bulbs seperatly using just the ballasts I bought from him

Guess you could call it a "FrankenHID"

I would try and put a soft spot on either the bottom of the brace or on the top of the intake where it can't be seen. Take a piece or two of double stick tape(the thicker 3m stuff) and on the last piece put some material. Felt/fleece would be great but even an old sock or t-shirt just so tha when the motor moved it rubs that rather then your paint.

CAI looks better for sure! Actually looks a little smaller now that it's red haha but regardless it turned out great. Definitely flows better.

Already done, fixed it as soon as I pulled off the old one and saw the wear marks

I had to do the same thing on my anderson power pipe where it goes through the fender. Its so fat that it barely fits through the hole. I am hoping to pick up a strut-brace that will clear it shortly and I will be doing the same there that you did.

Nice, hopefully the new red ford one doesn't rub as well. Your headlights remind me of the bible verse "LET THERE BE LIGHT" lol. There so bright.

Actually it's the exact same intake, I just stripped it down, repainted it completely and added the ford decal. I never realized the old one was running, it was under the STB so you couldnt see it unless you removed the pipe or STB. Regardless, it won't rub again.

I also made a new brace where the intake meets the MAF and changed the gasket where it goes into the fender to a much thicker material since the one the CAI came with lasted less then one season.

What kind of braided hoses do you have running to the CAI? I like those and would like to do something similar

It's one of those braided hose cover kits you can get at any parts store
