after you get all the visual stuff straighted out

i know it has to be pulled when setting the timing.

I have my base timing set to 12 with the spout out.
I drive to a gas station around the corner from the testing place. turn off car, pull spout, drive to the sniffer, pass like it's not even running, drive back to gas station and reinstall spout.
With the spout out it will start and rev normally to about 2500 rpm (that's more than enough for the ck). after 2500 rpm's that car will fall on it's face due to no timing advance.
good luck in Comifornia, Geargia is almost as bad

I just went to get smogged, I passed everything but the CEL.... it didn't show up when I read it from the strategy but they pulled P1000, which is the obd 2 system not function. Basically because of disconnecting the battery over the weekend, the car hasn't retuned itself. FML!

That may have been why mine failed.I had just disconnected the battery the night before. I didn't think of that!!! How many miles does it take to relearn itsself?

My tuner said, get it on the highway (a decent distance) and just let the car learn itself. I haven't done that since I only drive city miles...

Did you ever post your smog test results? Why did it fail?

high hydrocarbons = poor combustion or bad cats

Your timing might be off causing you to lean out, hence the high NOx levels.

Or it's just bad cats...

those are my best suggestions because there are some obvious issues if it's reading that high all the way across the board.

I passed with 0's all the way across the board...

I'm a modular guy so I wouldn't be able to help you with timing, but, you need something to richen the fuel mixture if it's not the cats.

If it's at 10* with the spout out then leave it there till after you get it passed.
I think timing is also 1 of the things the shop looks at in some states.
