Positives/Negatives :dunno:

What milage are you getting?? I am using Kumho MX radial tires and with a 2500 Stall converter...by the time the power hits the wheels, there is NO traction. If I floor the car from a roll and it downshifts the tires just burn up :nonono:

I need a tire that will grip but, not looking to spend $350 every 5K miles...

So what mileage are you getting with these - I hear people saying they last alot longer then BFG's or MT's.

Oh yeah, they last longer, they just don't hold as much power. I had a couple of sets on a different car. I really liked them. They aren't bad in the rain either. I think I got between 10 and 15k miles per set.

Hmm.. what didn't I like... they aren't ET Streets. Other than that no complaints here. :thumb: They are a good all around tire.

As far as tread life they are great. They hook very well in warm weather, but they spin when its cold weather. I'm making over 300 hp rwhp and they don't even chirp on full launch. My buddies can't believe how well they are hooking up. The size of the rear that I'm running is 315-35-17. I've never had m/t but if my hp increases, I might have to go get a set. If I had to buy another rear set of tires right now, it would be the nittos....

I cant say how long mine have lasted b/c they had a lot of trips to the track last year before I got my MT ET Streets and Weld Rims. They are a good street tire and hook well on warm pavement but their track performance from what I have seen is nothing to brag about. It all depends on your track prep but Ive never had good luck w/ them at the track. If your car is a daily driver and you put a lot of miles on it they probably wont last a long time or if you go to the track to. But if you drive the car a few times a week or less then you wont have to put another set on for quite a while

alot of people seem to like these tires, i almost bought a set myself but as a daily driver at that time i didnt want to replace every 8-9 months. I personally know of an 04 mystichrome with a zex kit that is making 500+ to the wheels running on nitto 315's and he loves them

I have them on my daily driver, but I don't drive it daily so I can't attest to their longevity. However, I can say that my car (maybe 200-205 rwhp) doesn't have enough power to spin them.

I was looking just today about getting a set of these for my Weld Prostars. You guys know if the 325 wide tires will fit?

Nitto's are known to run Narrow, I run 315's on a 17X10.5 rim. Id check w/ who you buy them from as far as the fitment.

Why not ET Streets? A Nitto isn't really a race tire and you will be dissappointed if you use it like that.

Of course my history with them was on an F-Body not a Mustang. They would spin first and dead hook on the 1-2 shift.

If your using the welds for the track get some MT DR's or some BFG's. Nitto's are not the best choice for track duty.

My friend Mike Byrd has 1.5 60' times on those crappy tires.

Im sure your friend Mike Byrd has some good track prep to. Unless you have good track prep you need better sticking tires then Nitto's. The best I ever did with Nitto's on any Mustang Ive have ( Ive run them on 2) was a 1.9 at my track and after switcing to MT DR's my first run on them was a 1.808. My car just blows the nittos off the line no matter how I try and launch it. The track prep is just not good enough.

That is an '86 ragtop right? I don't remember how wide the ones that I used to run on my Z28 were... 255s or 245s I think, 16 inch wheels, whatever stock size is. It would do 1.8s with a 6spd, mild suspension (TA/PHB, Wolfe SFCs), 4.11.

Don't get me wrong, they are great tires. I like them a lot and if my GT wasn't so slow that it doesn't spin the factory tires I would already have some on there. I just wouldn't put them on a race wheel. I dunno. It's a radial. I guess if he wants to roll around on Welds all the time. Prostars are good looking wheels.
