I just rebuilt a 3L on my ranger and the check engine light comes on. The trouble code that it gives is p1309 misfire. I checked the cmp and it was loose, I unfortunately could not reinstall it as I did not have the tool and of course the parts department at the dealership is closed today. I have checked the timing and it is advanced between 12-16 deg. The right advance is 10. So by setting the cmp properly I fix the problem. Any advice?
