So im gonna hold off on the side skirts/exhaust.

probably get a new hood, but after doing the research and call a bunch of places im frusterated

im looking for a functional 3" cobra R hood (black finish if possible, figured it would look better than a white finish before i paint it red down the line).
seems as tho i strike out everywhere, either they only have a 2000 style (extreme dimentions), not functional/barely functional (ABC), not 3" (mustang depot, harwood, steeda)

the white/black doesnt bug me too much, just a personal preferance but ive called 5 places today with no such luck. anyone know a place that isnt gonna be an arm and a leg like cervinis or keagen?

ahh thanks. what size is your? 2?

edit: nm thats oem r. thanks for that site. i have been over so many site the last week or so i had forgotten about ho fiberglass. just did some test fitting with some cardboard. gonna hopefully go with the 2 1/2" with functional cowl. not gonna do the $20 option since the car never sees anything other than sun and is garaged.

Glad to help, the hood quality is decent. The sizes can be confusing because they are different depending on where you measure and what the manufacturer wants to call it.

ya it seems weird when ever i see the hood and then see ones compared to the car. I think 3" sounded awesome but (no offense) but i dont like the height of Josh's RR hood. i love subtle hoods. just a bit to know their is something under the hood but not so much as to say "look at me!"

this is the crap i was trying to do to mock it up

2 1/2"

hmm I'm not sure that's how the sizing works but it's an interesting idea. I have the 1.5" hood from HO Fibertrends but Cervinis calls the same hood 3.5".

thats how i thought it worked. whenever i called/read info about them it says "whatever size over stock height". so i would assume to fine a peice of carboard, cut 2 1/2" and plop it ontop of the hood. pretty ghetto way but i would guess it would work. course the problem is that i look at say a 3 1/2" and it looks fine, then i see cars with it and it looks way too big. where exactly is the center cowl measured from?

not all companies advertise the hood as size over stock so it depends what company you're talking about in relation to where they measure it from.

Make sure you get a hood in black gel coat as the companies using the grey or white gel coat are trying to hide the flaws with the lighter coatings.

The black shows defects and waves in the fiberglass so the cheaper manufacturers will use white or grey to hide that.

Just a lil advice :eek:ccasion14:

Mines a 3"...as Onyx said, it varies by the manufacturer. I've seen some "3-inch" hoods that are smaller than mine and some that look way bigger.
