car quit on me no spark

today i had to give a customer a ride to work and after i dropped her off i was on my way back to the shop when my car sputtered and died. i couldnt get it to start so i had it towed back to my shop we checked the furl lines, they have pressure but im not getting spark from the coil to the dist. we ordered a new coil and plugged it in and still nothing. we had our electrician look at it and he seems to think its the alarm.any of you have any ideas

how old is your dizzy? That'd be my first guess

not sure it looks brand new. its a mad billet dist. i just did plugs cap rotor and wires all msd like 2 moths ago

MSD = May Suddenly Die If you still got the stocker, try that

no i dont have the stock one. im hoping its a simple wiring issue and not the dist but i have to plan for the worst and hope for the best

they also mentioned the ecu and pcm not sure what the pcm is? i have a jet chip in my comp could that have gone out and caused the spark loss since it controls spark advance?

i would happen to say its your dizzy, thats my guess but could be that black thing under your air intake. ( I forget the name of it)

ICM ignition control module
that doesn't usually go out in the sn's unlike the foxes

i would look at the dizzy as well. had to replace mine recently

check the tfi module.

what is the tfi? well i looked inside my dist and saw the hall effect was bretty wornout and im replacing it tomorrow. a dizzy is the dist or what?

yes the distributor is the dizzy. seriously doubt your tfi module is bad. the tfi module is located on the inner fender below the mass air meter in the engine compartment. its mounted on an aluminum block.

the TFI would be the same thing as the ICM

well ive had an car electrician who does all our electrical on our cars at work looking at my car for a whoel day and i hope he finds it. he says its the coil over and my boss swears by this guy so i trust him
