Car shuts off when A/C on

Here we go again! The car was running great with the a/c and then it stalled at the stop light. After work I turned on the car and turned the a/c on and the car stalled!Argh!! :help2:

Idle seems just fine! Seems to be at 750 but cannot be exact.

Im not sure about 5.0s, but I would check TPS, and or IAC( if there is one)

Sounds like the IAC. I would try cleaning it with some carb or throttle body cleaner and see if that helps.

O0Something even simpler. I purchased the iac and when I went to turn on the car. Clic...nothing. Guess what It was the battery. How would I know if the alternator is charging correctly.

You can take the car to Autozone and they will test it on the car. Or you can pull of the ALT and bring it in to them and they can test it that way too. Or if you have a volt meter and the car starts and runs, see what voltage is at the battery with it off and with it on. When the car is on you should be seeing 13.75ish-14.3v. Make sure all your cables are connected good.

my car used to do that, it was the a/c compressor clutch went out in it. i could have the car idling fine with the a/c
off, and then turn the a/c on, and it would studder and shut off. i think it might be your a/c compressor. your car doesn't
die any other time, just at idle/slow speeds with the a/c on? the compressor would be my best guess. O0
