I’m planning to make some upgrades to my 302 to dress the car for show. This isn’t a race car but I may do better headers on this one.
As a thought I’m wanting to replace my converters for a performance restoration on this car right now. I know for a fact it needs o2 sensors.
Does anybody have a setup where they kept these converters and was worth anything

finding offroad pipes without cats is getting hard now. There are plenty of options with cats, just not cheap options.

I’m putting serious money into this car.
It is a family car and will be kept
price isn’t a concern
But it’s not a race car

I’m keeping Converters on the car.
Of some kind.
But I’m thinking of ordering oem replacements from Rock. I need oxygen sensors.

No there’s no state laws enforcement.
Won’t that make for a bad running engine

It just crossed my mind it’s something that can be updated before I’m ready to pull the engine and clean. Headers will be a possibility for me then. I’m not sure I should keep oem cats with the (Up-dating) that I’m doing

IMG_2371.pngNow these would be something and like minded. I myself am not wanting this to be a loud car. It’s a convertible. Again I’m fairly certain I want catalytic converters

I would not replace the cats unless they are bad unless your going with a different midpipe for performance.

I had an old ecu situation where I fowled two sets of plugs in absolutely no time while I was just trying to find the root of the problem. Fowled the first beyond running. Had a black ring around exhaust tips. And it spit some junk out when I got to the problem. I’m pretty sure I blowed and burned all this out of the motor as good as it is but I wouldn’t think converters could be in good shape.

if they were in bad shape, you would hear it rattling or notice the loss of power if it was clogged

I put the BBK catted midpipe on my 94 GT, it's half the weight of the stock midpipe and my exhaust doesn't stink like a lawnmower. I'm certain I won't miss the 0.000000000000000000000000000001 horsepower the cats are costing me.

It's discontinued now but perhaps there's one on the shelf somewhere.. Flowmaster made a similar exhaust called "Force II" which has the SN95-specific heat shields on its larger resonated 50 series mufflers and a lot quieter than the 40 or 44s . I have a GT Force II on my 3.8 (with a custom H-pipe adapter) and ignoring the difference in how a V8 and a V6 will always sound I greatly prefer the almost silent cruise with the 50 series vs. the 40's my GT has.

I put a Bassani Catted X-pipe on my Fox. Did it for two reasons mainly. Didn't want the car that loud, and didn't want the fumes.
