update, so far no particular issues screaming at me. the car runs and drives, I did lol at my horn when I locked the car, it sounds like the horns out of air lmao.

Otherwise so far so good. Couldnt test cruise control because I don't think I got over 25mph on my way to work lol

no cruise is trans speedo.

if that were the case I'd have no signal to the speedometer.

No update as of yet, I keep forgetting to check to see if my cruise control works, car starts no problem though, and since I recently retuned the fuel maps I have a bit more lope at idle =D

i still vote speedo sensor. the engine has its own tach signal via pcm.

the engine has its own tach signal yes, but my speedometer still works perfectly fine. if that wasn't working I'd be inclined to say you're correct about the VSS being toast

vss acts 2 parts. 1 for cruise and 1 for speedo. 1 can still give speed sensor. or it may even be wiring to and from your pcm since you had the shenanigans with the XL100. you can pull the square engine harness connector from rear passenger side firewall and check for resistance. i'll look it up on the 2000 TSM i have.

sounds good. I just need a kick start to figure out where I should start looking because something is definitely not getting power

Haynes manuals suck for everything except electrical schematics. Get one or PM me and I will scan and email you the sheet. Follow the electricity just like it is water flowing through pipes and see where it stops.

I've got access to Chilton's. I've got the whole schematic so I'll take a look at it this weekend. Gotta add oil change to that list of things to do as well ><
