cluster help???

need help with cluster my speedo isn't working, oil pressure sometimes goes up& down. have new sensor on it, and aftermarket gauge so not a big prob. but it urks me and it's embarassing when im with bit#hes. they always ask (how come the speedo doesn't work) my response is shut up bit#he this is a race car! but please help guys

95% chance the gear on your VSS is bad 5% chance your VSS is bad. Its easy to see, one bolt and it comes out

i have to get a special one for my gear size though right. even if i got stock 327's?

does your odometer work? it could also be the gear on the back of the guage itself hey if she is able to look at the speedo then your not going fast enough

there isnt a gear that drives the speedo, its all electrical. And if your gear is bad on the VSS you OD wouldnt work either cause the elcetric motor that drives the speedo also drives a worm gear for your od. but if you have 3:27 gears you should be able to use the same tooth count that you have now, i think anything over 3:73 you need a different gear. you can get new gears at 50resto.com if thats your problem. just crawl under your car, the VSS is on the drivers side and its held in by 1 bolt

correct speedo is electrical but there is a gear that drives the odometer and trip too
