A couple of months ago I picked up an edelbrock RPM 5.0 with elbow for my 95 GT. The guy that sold it to me had it on a 306 SC engine. The intake is ported and extrude honed. Since it is ported I thought maybe the intake might be too much for my stock heads. So I've been saving some cash to get some aluminum heads and a custom cam. Today this came up http://sandiego.craigslist.org/csd/pts/1732497175.html I haven't talked to the guy yet, but would the cobra intake be better suited for what I have now? Once I get the heads, I'm thinking TFS or AFR 165 (need to be smog legal) will the Cobra intake set me back?

I would use the edelbrock.

You'll probably lose some low end torque over the Cobra but if your plans are getting a set of nice heads and a custom cam, you'll make more power with the Edelbrock.

I basically have a stock '94 Cobra. I had the Cobra intake (stock) on the car, then I swapped to the Edlebrock RPM II. I honestly didn't notice any power gains, but I have plans for a bigger set-up. I got a great deal on the intake, so I couldn't pass it up. And it also fits under my stock hood.
