I haven't really been driving it, I don't have it registered or insured... the inspection is good until December, so I might use it on the street until then, but if I ever get pulled over, I'm definitely getting a ticket... no e-brake, no air bags, no side windows, racing seats, removable steering wheel, cage, and gutted... it doesn't even look street legal

Understandable. I want to gut mine for AutoX because my class allows it and I figure I could gut it and sell my interior pieces and get a little bit of money for other stuff.

Yeah, I sold my entire interior including the air bags for like 200 bucks... not very desirable

True, but some money is better than no money, and I think I'll get a little more, folks like 01 Cobras ahah.

What happened to the bottom of your back bumper on the drivers side? Looks something hit it or it just the angle? Anyway, car looks tits my friend. What kind of tires are you going to be using for track use?

It is bolted back together haha, the guy that had it before me tore the bumper cover and I didn't feel like spending money on a new one, so I put a peice of metal behind the crack and screwed it all back together, not the prettiest thing but it's on the bottom and probably going to see some damage from the track anyway, as far as tires, right now I'm using Eagle F1's because they came on the wheels and are brand new, once they wear out I'm going to either Hoosier R6's or Kuhmo V710's

Re: CompOrangeSN95's Official build thread *UPDATE 7/15/10*

I got the decals put on today, drove the car around my parking lot at work, got a little bit of tire rub, but all in all the car has a lot of balls, I wish I knew what internals it had, but as far as I can tell it at least has a cam... once it hits 3k it's like god kicked the car in the ass. any hoo on to the pics. You can't see it but my name is on the driver side door in black.

I took a wheel off to check for tire rub, it doesn't look bad, but I'm going to roll the fender under and hope it doesnt destroy my paint...

I think it looks awesome and can't wait until the 26th

I wish the numbers were a different style, but for a race car, it'll be fine. NOW GO RACE

Yeah, I just got finished rolling them, and just like the last car I did that too, the paint cracked, I wish I had thought about the heat gun thing, I'll keep it in mind for next time.

I actually took a long time figuring out what style I wanted and I finally decided on this style, I think it looks really good. AND I WILL GO RACE!!! I have to wait for the 26th... LAME, I wont even be able to see my car in a week from Saturday, I'm going on a mission trip to Beverly Kentucky for a week.

American Iron build or just something fun for HPDE's and PDX's? It's a shame you're so far north, I have an autocross coming up down here in South Jersey Region that would be a really good chance for you to come and do some shakedown testing.

Re: CompOrangeSN95's Official build thread *UPDATE 7/15/10*

I would love to do some autoX events, for right now the car is more for fun then anything else, like PDA events, SCDA, things like that, until I feel that I'm good enough to join American Iron. That is the ultimate goal, or buy a factory 5 kit racer and join their series

My buddy Perry is the chair of North Jersey region SCCA and he had been running his events at Englishtown for years but now he just started running events up in the Meadowlands at Giants stadium I think. He puts on a hell of an event, definitely check him out over on his site, www.autox4u.comhttp://

Nice vid. looks like a fun car.

sucks about the smog pulley and all though.
When do you think you'll have her back on the track?

Re: CompOrangeSN95's Official build thread *UPDATE 7/29/10*

So sick.
So sick.

How loud/hot is it in that car with no carpet? I'm still considering gutting mine but I don't want it to look too unfinished and was considering finding some grey roll on bed-liner to cover the floor in. Might add some weight back but it'd look better and I know from my 4x4 days it'll help keep some heat out without carpet. Iunno, just kinda tossing ideas out there. I'm really jealous of your car lol.

Re: CompOrangeSN95's Official build thread *UPDATE 7/29/10*

to be honest it wasn't very hot, the air is constantly moving. If you're like me a plan on doing a shlt ton of track events it might not be a bad Idea to gut it, but if you're still going to street it too, you're better off leaving it in.

I hoping to have it back on the track on the 17th of sept. same place as before, I already have the car up and running again, it's just a matter of finding another event.
