Hi everyone,

Recently did a bunch of work to the interior of my 95 convertible and decided now that the top cant leak anymore lol. When adjusting the windows I had an issue on the middle rail of both side of the top. The window pinches every other piece fine execpt for that middle one and this is where ill start to get some water in. Also on my passanger side ill get water that runs down my quater window to leak into that chamber thing that the window sits in. Has anyone had similar issues and what were the fixes? New weatherstripping all the way around as well as the top is about a year old installed by a trusted shop.

TIA

It sounds to me like the window adjuster on the rear of the door needs to be adjusted. However. If everything looks perfect but the 2 middle seals. I would see if they are in correctly

This is a longer format version.

I would like to say that we got the windows alligned because I can not make the middle fit any more snug without bringing the front too far in or too far out. Weatherstripping seems to be in correctly, it snapped right into the channel but comparing the repos that I got to the factory ones, They look different and just a little off. Has anyone experianced this issue?

Pictures of the problem area would be more useful than just the explanation.

This is all great info!

Now that im a proud owner of a convertible, i see the struggles of weather sealing because all the dam windows have water streaking on the inside and ive cleaned them a dozen times! I need a car port!

Sorry for no reply or pictures, I was going through a bunch of trial and error.
The first photos show the reproduction weather stripping and just how it was not sitting right. Decent in the front but that seal just went away the closer it got to the end of the window. I was getting water through here.

I ended up calling my local ford dealer and found that center piece for both sides down in Texas. Replaced the repop with the NOS one and the window sealed right up to it without making any more adjustments. The NOS weatherstripping was longer fatter and sturdier that the reprodcution one. I t also fit into the channel better and married up to the conjoining pieces on either side.

You can kinda see ( sorry for not great photos) how now there is a lip that the window seals against. I water tested this and now I have no leaks.

I still have some final tweaks on my windows to get them just perfect but the solution to my problem was to find a set of ford ones lol.
